Probably the most undervalued player at LFC by the fans today..

Strong rumors linking him to Chelsea the last couple of days and going by how things have been happening in the transfer market for us I wouldnt be surprised if it does happen... I also wouldnt think that many would be too bothered about it... now

For me, he's our 3rd best outfield players behind Gerrard and Suarez. That said, the arrival of Charlie Adam seems to have made everyone forget all about Meireles and what he did for the club last season.. Hes easily worth 20mill imo (Chelsea initial bid reported at 15mill) but I would still be very dissapointed if we sell him for that...

I think it's ridiculous that he hasnt even played in his natural position for us for any sort of sustained period.. Even many fans seem to be suggesting that his role in the side is/will be limited to playing wider roles or behind the striker...
If he moves to Chelsea I'm sure he'll be played right in front of the back 4 and he'll be responsible for starting the majority of the attacks for them...
He's also been linked to Inter Milan in recent times... Not good enough for us but good enough for title favorites in England and Italy ?

Agreed. I think he's a cracking player. Can't see why we shelled out 20M for Henderson to play him instead of Meireles....really don't get that one....

I am confused as to the situation relating to Meireles and Aquilani.

They don't appear to be fancied by Kenny and in the case of Meireles I can't understand why. He had a great season last season and would be a great foil for Suarez/Carroll IMO.

If Chelsea are interested and follow it up with a bid/offer then they will get a very good player and I think Kenny will regret letting him go. The ONLY way I would sell Meireles to Chelsea is if we get Daniel Sturridge as part of the deal...although it would appear that Alex is more of interest to Kenny

There is no way Kenny will pick Mereiles before Charlie Adam. He is a player that Kenny really rates and I don't think Kenny likes Raul too much or he would have player more in pre-season.

That said, we paid 30mill or so for the new pair and for that reason only they will be played even when not needed..

Wouldnt blame Meireles or Aquilani if they wanted a move... Being tracked by some of the best clubs in the world while not being able to get in a side ahead of Adam or Henderson couldnt possibly be something they'll be too happy about..

That much is obvious but I totally disagree with Kenny on this one. I believe he overvalues both Adam and Henderson and he wasted that money. Tough words yes, but true imo.

Adam=Scottish
Kenny=Scottish

Not implying anything just saying he might see Adam a bit too much with rose tinted glasses...
