From SSN:

Paul Jewell has stepped down as manager of Wigan Athletic.

Jewell guided The Latics to Premiership safety with a win at Sheffield United on the final day of the season.

However, he will not be in charge for a third season in the Premiership as he has decided to step down from the JJB Stadium helm.

:oh: Never seen that one coming, Dave Weilan was praising him to the hilt and said he would never let him go only if Liverpool came in for him.
Bit shocked at this only wanted Wigan to stay up because of him.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

shame. he was great for them. maybe the relegation pressure frazzled his nerves. But without Jewell at the helm, wigan won't have my sympathy (depends on the football they play i guess)

*edit: someone pm littlewiganer for his opinion.

new boss is Chris Hutchings, apparently according to Wigans chairman Chris is one of the best coaches in the Premier league.

"He's one of the best and most knowledgable coaches in the Premiership," said Whelan.

Then why didn't you sack Paul Jewell and appoint Chris Hutchings sooner then you dopey tw£t?
