Man u vs wolves - The mismatch

The Premiership - General Discussion

Postby shanklygates » Tue Dec 15, 2009 8:59 pm

guys just listening to talk sport, and wolves have picked a very weakened side, 10 changes from saturday, they are going nuts on talk sport.

ya know when they say no team should pick a weakened side to help another team, it normally happens towards the end of the season if say one of the top 4 are playing a relegation bound team.

so WTF is this basically giving 3 crucial points to united?

he's already conceded he'd get beat. I woul have attacked the w@nkers, their defence is fooked. Attack will very much be the best form of defence here. I'd have fancied my chances personally but there you go, another one bends over

if it was any other team that it was in favour of, there may have been some sort of uproar, but this is Manchester United they're helping so we have to keep hush hush and ignore the facts mate

its 2-0 now.

i dont think for a minute that wolves would have got a result here anyway, but by making 10 changes he has basically handed man ure 3 points on a silver platter wrapped in a big xmas bow.

We made a load of changes a few seasons ago went we went to Fulham and we were beat. I know we had a European Cup Final the following week but they 3 points helped Fulham stay up and sent another team down

Swings and Roundabouts and all that etc etc......

i know that mate but if it gets towards the end of the season and wolves are fighting relegation they wont like it if a top team  played  a weakened team with one thats around them, middle of seasons or end its exactly the same and thats what they have done, its not just about the points mate, we all know goal difference could play a major part as well.

its either right or wrong. it shouldn't matter when abouts it is in the season.

you never know, utd could have beat the full wolves 11 by 4-0 or 5-0 ... footballs a funny old game.

i do agree with that redman, but would you be happy with your team if they admitted defeat before they even got to the ground.

would you be happy if you travelled hundreds of miles to an away game in the prem to watch reina and co and then seen

cavallieri, darby, kelly skrtel, threlfall, plessis, spearing, pacheco ngog and ngoo..or something similar.

I think to be fair its wolves an mick mccarthys perogative.
Yes it can have implications on other teams in the league but so what ?
The other teams should be doing what they need to to win the league anyway and not relying on other results.
It is annoying to see sides just concede defeat without giving it a go but if you were wolves and looked at the fixtures that is a game where you would expect to get no points from anyway.

its actually in the f.a regulations that you have to play your strongest team where possible, so wolves still may be in trouble.

Mick McCarthy has claimed after the game that he feels it was the strongest team at his disposal but you can understand why the Wolves fans will feel a little bit aggrieved about the decision.

i wonder if owen coyle will do the same tonight against arsenal? no thought not. sick of teams rolling over and dying against the mancs. wolves had just beaten spurs away and the mancs had just lost at home. at least go there and have a go. :no
