Cisse may yet start the season as a Birmingham player with his prolonged move to Bolton still to be completed. He passed a medical and Birmingham agreed an initial fee of around £350,000 with Bolton earlier this summer. Talks to finalise the deal have been on-going ever since and the negotiations have been stepped up over the last few days. But there is still some work to be done before the transfer is completed. Bolton are understood to have not yet agreed personal terms with Cisse who spent the first part of the summer on international duty for Senegal. Birmingham are also seeking further payments on an appearance related basis. If agreement cannot be reached then Aliou Cisse will start the season at Birmingham and join the battle for a place in the centre of the City midfield.
