I am a believer if our midfield wasn't totally **** at providing the right balls and having the ability to establish play further up the field, Caroll would do much better.
But let's not kid ourself, we got taken for a ride here.
Potential or no potential, we bought a 15 million striker for 35 million, cause someone was foolish.
As you can ses, I still think he is a good striker but I am sorry, when you pay 35 million(almost twice what we have ever payed for a player) I expect goals and a difference maker.

The money is important cause we could have saved the money until the summer(Caroll was injured anyway for the season almost) and evaluated our options then. We would have a larger warchest and not pay overinflated january prices.

Again though, had nobody been signed to fill Torres's spot, people here would have said "Why oh whyyyy? What's Kenny dooooing? He needs sacking!"

Had he signed Carroll and Carroll hit the ground running, fired in goal after goal, this thread would never have reached 114 pages, or maybe it would, only this time with all positives. Everyone would be going "Great signing!"

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. So is being able to sit at a computer and say what should and shouldn't be done. WE sit here and discuss it, whilst Andy's at the training ground, training with legends, and superstars and internationals from all over the world.

Should we have signed no one to take the number 9 then? Or those who saying we should have waited, did you have  someone better in mind? Perhaps the person you had in mind would be banging in the goals hmmm?

in what way improving, and I absolutely 100% guarantee that Carroll will never get 100 caps or being score goals for fun. The boy has zero talent, I know you guys with your rose tinted specs want to see the best in everyone and that's a lovely sentiment but in the real world you have to get rid of whats not working and Carroll is NOT working nor is he improving, nor does he have any talent or future as a footballer (at least not at a big club).

Dude, you should get on the phone to Kenny. Your foresight would be a wonderful asset to our scouting team. The rest of us speculate, and talks of ifs, coulds and maybes but you can gaurantee.

Awsome.

Some wear rose tinted glasses, but yours seem to be smeared in poop or something. Carroll isn't working yet but he's getting better and better. He's learning. He's new to the club and starting to settle in. You want to sign him on a 5 year contract then show him the door after a year. Lots and lots of players don't work out immediately. You've already told us that you sit with your neatural friends and let them sl*g off our team. You say they know football. You say Carroll has ZERO talent and has NO future at a big club in football. Yet here he is, playing for Liverpool. Most people on these forums say he had a good game against Manure...but not you. No. He was sh*t and your neautral friends agreed (or gave you the opinion). And yet you say we have rose tinted glasses? ???

I'm sorry, but I honestly question your commitment.

We're not sitting in the top 4. Time for Kenny to go? Reina? Best ship him out too. We've never won the league with him in the squad. Or Gerrard. Or any of them for that matter.

Back to the drawing board, but with your foresight to help us!

Club deny it, papers swear by it.

I don't know who to believe...

Journo's on the "Sunday Supplement" reckon that "somebody" at LFC, completely unofficially, asked "somebody" at Man City what would be the reaction if Carroll was offered in exchange for Tevez. He was told the idea wouldn't even be considered.

The somebody at LFC was not identified but Kenny was not on the list of suspects.

I honestly have no idea what you guys see in him, I thought he contributed zero to the game on saturday, he may as well not have been on the pitch.

wc you are talking sh'ite (pun intended)
So Carroll has zero talent, no natural ability and is a lazy sod? Seriously you are embarrassing yourself with this nonsense and I resent you insinuating that KK is a clueless pr'ick.
At least Kerry the beyatch gives us some explanation for her silly female outbursts but you are obviously entrenched in your clueless beliefs and thrilled with your inferior knowledge.
You're right, Carroll did nothing on saturday, in fact he was the skank's man of the match

New to the club? ??? He's been here a year FFS, and in what way is he improving, is it the amount of goals, his movement, his tracking back, please tell me how he's improving because i really don't get it. Half the time he's in the wrong place then he just jogs back to another wrong position.

Look I wanted him to improve as well but his attitude and workrate stink, at least with Kuyt he works his :censored: off even though he is also an extremely poor striker.

BTW I would love to have a job within football, the only industry where salaries are going up and up without any of the customers(fans) complaining that it gets passed onto them in terms of higher ticket prices, shirts etc. I have no idea how they get away with it, it's become a joke.

Worcester_Red,

I'm with Thommo. If you can't see any contributions or improvments, well, I guess there aren't any. Your mind seems set and you appear blind to anything else.

Same problem. Thought it was just the speed Carroll moves !!  :D  :D   :D

That was a joke Worcester Ded! I'm beginning to like him. I think he'll do a Lucas! Hope so anyway.

Kyut's goal yes. but Agger's goal? i dont think so...
did i miss something??

He was the one that got in the way of De Gea, and basically made it impossible for him to get to the ball, so Agger had a completely free header 3 yards out.

If it wasn't for Carroll then De Gea wouldn't have had a problem grabbing that cross.

he blocked de gaa so he was involved with the goal?
well, an oversize cardboard figure that cost 35 pounds can also achieve the same thing right ?

his flick on for Kuty is good but i dont buy the blocking de gaa story.

FFS - watch the first goal again, and then again, and then maybe once more and then if necessary in ultra slow motion and you might just see how De Gea was more interested in pushing Andy Carroll out of the way rather than watching the ball and Agger. His contribution made scoring very easy for Agger as De Gea was almost bent over and out of position. Surely Carroll deserves some credit for that.

I bet you're happy to give Pepe credit for his eighty yard punt that Carroll flicked on to Kuyt for the second goal. I know Pepe's distribution is exceptional and he deserves a lot of credit for it.However it would be very easy to say it was a lucky kick!

Was very, very good again last night. Not sure what's clicked with him, but he looks interested now where before he looked dejected. He was strong. His positioning and awareness were excellent. He won a heck of a lot in the air.

As the commentator on ESPN kept pointing out though, the amount of times he knocked the ball down onto the penalty spot only for there to be no team mate there was shocking. Had we had someone closer to Carroll last night, we could easily have had 6 or 7.

His pace let him down often though. There were numerous occasions he was clean through but didn't have the legs.

Good performance though. Keep it up Andy!

his best game so far. would have loved that one to have gone in after his fancy slo-mo turn and run but i think he snatched at it a bit. onwards and upwards andy lad.

as far as the thread loading goes - its been happening on the forum for a while after threads get to a certain number of pages. the site seems to say there is an extra page that doesn't really exist, which is why it spends an age trying to load it. the best bet is to click on the little orange or blue arrows by where it says 'last post by...'. this will take you straight to the place where you last looked at the post and enable you to see all the posts made since then.
