Thought Andy had a decent game the other day.  Played a part in both goals and was unlucky not to score himself.

sorry but I didn't see it, can you explain to me what his impact was as I was watching it with a few neutral friends who could not believe how utterly cr@p he is, they really were amazed that he ever cost £35million.

please explain what he gives to the team, is it his endless running and tracking back, his natural goal threat, his positional sense, his astounding technical abilities? Please please tell me because I want to believe he isn't complete and utter garbage, I really do.

I would have told your neutral friends to stop talking sh'ite as LFC had just knocked the mighty Manchester United out of the FA cup. I would also have told them that Andy Carroll played a massive part in that win whether they liked the way he played or not. And finally I would have told them to stop being boring, obsessive knobs who keep going on about the £35 million.

Talk about shoot ourselves in the foot

Bellers cant play every game, Suarez might get injured god forbid,Andy Carroll might never score.

With all these games and the push for 4th place i think we needed more but what the f uck
do i know.

God help us if this is true.

carroll showed the type of player he is on saturday with a hand in both goals.
he was instrumental in the 1st when he got himself between the keeper and the defence and that allowed agger to rise unchallenged and nod it home.
the second was a great flick on and thats the 2nd direct assist he had inside 4 days so that is a sign he is improving and his confidence is growing.
he doesnt suit pass and move but he is another option if the former isnt working and then he should be thrown on and we switch to a more direct style where we get the ball wide and find him in the box.
he maintains he is happy here and is beginning to find a bit of form and better understanding with his teammates so i hope to see him kick on and finish out the rest of the season in good form.
regardless of whether people rate him or not you cant deny that he had a big hand in us getting to a final and progressing closer to another.
like i said hopefully we see the best of him from here on in.

I still think he is an extremly limited player but he was ok last game.

I still have respect for a player like Kuyt no matter how few goals he would score because he works his :censored: off. If Andy understood that that's how most of the fans works he wouldn't probably sulk around as much as he has done.

We are to blame for his price tag but if he doesn't do his utmost I'll blame him too.

True, and that is his role, but did we really spend 35million for an extra option? A player who we can throw in if things arent going well so we resort to plan B and start launching it into the box. The 8th most expensive player in history.. an extra option?

You pay 35million for a nailed on starter.

Judging by reports, Andy Carroll has the rest of this season to show something he has yet to show. Flick ons and headers is not 35 million, Kenny is expecting more. Although we won ugly against Man U, we were right to play direct and exploit their weakness in the air (no Vidic/Ferdinand and have a keeper terrified of crosses). The game against Man City we played on the floor and were much better, Bellamy outstanding, and we dominated them for long spells. Thats the method that we aspire to play and unless Andy Carroll can develop his game to be more than flicks on and headers, he won't be here long.

I wouldn't have minded a swap for Tevez if he went down in salary. Still a :censored: nut job though. That swap has more to me doubting Andys talent though..

yeah unfortunately they know a thing or two about football and as said they were being totally neutral and could not believe that a player as poor as Carroll plays for Liverpool. They were happy that we won though, especially after I bought a few rounds of drinks  :D
