If you look up the word "schizophrenia" you will see that it literally translates to "split mind" but that doesn't give an accurate indication of the symptoms of the disorder.
If anything "beyond normal" was to be described as "paranormal", the wearing of pink leotards at board meetings would not be precluded. So as we don't get confused, it isn't used to describe those sorts of occurences and is appropriately associated with "ghostly" activity.

Both don't have evidence to prove their existence or non existence, and faith can also be belief without proof. So technically ghosts are about faith too, just non religious faith.
Not for people who have actually witnessed them, or felt them in their presence. A person can only be extremely narrow or closed minded to dismiss the existence of them. If scientist can prove in theory that there are worm holes in space that can rip and distort time, alternate realities and such, singularities etc etc, then what is so far fetched about ghosts if all we are is energy formed through a chemical reaction?
Scientists have proved NONE of the stuff you mention. They are theories.

Thurrock Paranormal.
By talking out of your a'rse I was referring to your use of the word "paranormal" to designate anything that is "beyond normal". That would include anything in the natural or social domain; anything that has been explained and is able to be experienced but which does not conform to expectation. If it is to have any meaning then it should be used to describe claims of entirely unexplained phenomena.
Big Niall wrote:woof woof ! wrote:I must be a Fu*king ghost whisperer 'cause I've definitely seen two and possibly three "ghosts". the most definite sighting was in Calangut India. One evening I was sitting on the back porch of a cottage I was renting when I saw this Indian woman walking towards one of the wells that served the small fishing village my cottage was situated in.
When she got to the well instead of lowering a bucket to draw some water the woman stood up on the small wall that surrounded the well and jumped in ! . Holy f'uck ! I shouted to my mates in the cottage and legged it to the well . A lot of local villagers attracted by the commotion came running and when I explained what I'd seen they re-assured me () that what I'd seen was just the ghost of a girl who promised in marriage to a man she hated had jumped into the well some 20 years earlier. She apparently made an appearance a couple of times a year .
Needless to say I quit sitting on the back porch of my cottage .
Why haven't they taped this then. They'd make a fortune. Why not get a bunch of critics sit them there and when this happens we'll say we're wrong.

According to Lakes, yes. We have had a paranormal season.
lakes10 wrote:lol no we have not had a paranormal one, as it has happend to other before and there are reasons why it happend and we can identify them.
paranormal means anything that that we can not identify reasons for the event or something that is without a understanding, you may think something is paranormal untill you are told why it happen then its classed as an normal event.
100 killed in car crash is a normal event, not nice but we know why it might have happend.
a strange like in the sky is paranormal untill you are told it was a shooting star....a normal event
