The whole Aqualani saga is a disgrace.  I cant believe in the space of 2 years Rafa has signed 2 players for huge money and both have been a disaster.  He doesnt rate Aqualani.  Simple as that.  A Panic buy.  Alonso went and Rafa panicked.  He signs an injured player and then when his fit he still doesnt play him.  Its laughable it really is.  How anyone can think he deserves more money to waste is beyond me.

Whilst it wouldn't do us any good moral wise I think getting knocked out of this competition would be better for us in terms of being able to concentrate on getting 4th place.

This night 2 years ago we beat Inter Milan 1-0 (3-0 on agg) in the San Siro with a wonder strike from Torres.

This week last year we battered Real Madrid 4-0 (5-0 on agg)with a complete performance and later in the week battered the Mancs 4-1 away.


This week defeats to Wigan and Lille

What is going on?

I was trying to convince myself of that Bav, but look at Villa last year. Also remember 2001.

Europa League or not it makes no difference. We are not good enough and 4th is not happening.

4th is a million miles away. The mighty Wigan put paid to that.

We are only in contention for 4th because Villa, City and spurs keep fluffing it.

Very much doubt we will even be in europe next season the way we are playing, Villa will dump us into 6th spot and everton will probaly catch us in 7th.

The club is now spiralling uncontrolably, the life has been sucked out of the club by stupid greedy owners ( past and present ), this in turn has this season sucked the desire and passion out of the players. A poor run of results has only compounded the issue.

Thankyou for all your hard work Rafa, but it is time to go, along with a large proportion of the dross we call the first team.

Then I guess we need to seriously start considering a year in the wilderness and think about what needs to be done to rebuild. But is rebuilding to that level again even possible? We are skint.  :(
