Just saw this on BBC football gossip page, make of it whatever you like..

Report: Liverpool striker Torres favours Barcelona move if he leaves Anfield

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is keen on a move to Catalan giants Barcelona, if he is forced to leave Anfield.

Sport suggests that Liverpool may have to sell their prized assets, including Torres in order to help repay the club's large financial debt.  Although both Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with the 25 year-old, Torres reportedly would prefer a move to Barcelona.

Sport discounts the possibility of a transfer to Real Madrid, given Torres' loyalty to his former club Atletico Madrid.  But the Liverpool striker apparently feels "a great sympathy" for Barcelona and "wouldn't hesitate a single moment" to move to the Nou Camp.

During his time at Atletico Madrid, Barcelona president Joan Laporta "was flirting" with the signing of Torres, according to Sport.

"El Nino" has been outstanding since moving to Anfield in 2007 and has scored 13 goals in 21 matches for Lvierpool so far this season.

We might not see the game none of us, because the Spanish TV workers are at strike, and they are threatening with not broadcasting the game (and they're the guys who pass the broadcast to abroad).

BTW, good news, Torres will be on the bench, in Marca we could read yesterday that Del Bosque is going to 'protect' Torres.

Aussie Style: I wouldn't make much of that news, it's simply that the only politically correct team that he can choose if he comes back to Spain is Barcelona, provided that he wants to play in a top spanish football team again, as Real Madrid will never be an option for him.

It can't be much of news when the Barcelona press, eager to highlight every rumour, doesn't say nothing.

Why is Real Madrid not an option for him? I dont think there's any team that wouldn't want his service as a striker. Besides, Alonso and Arbeloa are there as well so I wouldn't be surprised.

Correct! Torres hates Real Madrid which is why he taunted their fans in his celebration when we beat them at Madrid last season.

Torres is going to play the second half against France. 0-2.

I don't like it, the French are not loving this 0-2 and they're tackling as if it wasn't a friendly.

So he didn't play the first half? That's good I guess. :D

They just read the Spain score and didn't mention anything about him being injured so im sure he was fine.

:D

I don't think you should be worried.

When Alonso was subbed, the order of Spain was finnished, and in a typical Spanish attitude, instead of killing France with a 0-5 like the Germans would do, we had "mercy" (that costed us in other games).

Thus, Torres didn't have much of a game in the 45 mins he played. But he looked lively in the balls he had, and wound up Evra and other Premier footballers in a couple of situations.

I saw him stopping his runs progresively, still afraid of forcing his muscles. In other words Nanny, I think it was good for him those minutes and he played with precautions.

Just in case check him thoroughly in Melwood, though  :D
