The problem is, Aquilani lacks some confidence, and in 2 games he was looking better and getting some confidence back, until he got dropped today, He can turn out to be a quality player, but only that he plays more games and Rafa isn't doing this, he is constantly dropping him on the bench because the opposing team is not right for him. 20m, what a waste. Look at him getting shipped in the summer.

A 20 million mascot who runs up and down at the side of the pitch

We may as well put him in a costume and see if we can earn some money back on him

U have to wonder what Rafa said to him before he signed.  Surely he told the lad where he see's the playing in his team.

This is Robbie Keane all over again and I could see him gone in the summer.

He certainly compares with Baldrick, although Baldrick might take offence

Perhaps the "cunning plan" is to pay £20m for a player, leave him on the bench so the opposition think that all the players picked ahead of him are much better than a £20m player....................................

Sadly our lot play like they are worth £20m combined sometimes, half of that probably the keeper.

Rafa gave Keane plenty of chances but Keane couldna hit a barn door at 3 paces. Aquaboy's not even getting teh chances. WTF is going on I wonder?

lets not get into this again.

what did rafa do after keane scored his first goal? - bench him for the next, what did rafa do when keane scored 2 goals in one game? - bench him for the next game - -  Its not chances, or glimpses, you need - its a consistant run in the team - other wise you never build any sort of form.

Not quite. or Perhaps, not yet.

Meaning, I've got no idea whether he'll be a success or not, but put Zinedine Zidane, Diego Armando Maradona or Messi, in Aquilani's place yesterday, and he'd struggle aswell. We played **really shíte** as a team yesterday

He won't be a success, if he isn't on the bloody field. That's for sure.

You are right, it isn't comparable with Keane. Keane had chances, missed them and his attitude sucked about it. Maybe Keane should have been given longer at the club, but honestly it was a pretty poor punt of a signing at £20m. Aquilani hasn't been able to get the same run of games Keane did, all the drivel about when he was substituted hasn't become less drivellous through time and repetition. It happens, if the player needs more of a boost than scoring then he's not right for this club. If I scored and got taken off or didn't play the next game I'd not be overly happy, but I'd hardly cry over it.

Well then I'd say you wouldn't have the desire for it.
