I'd say £20 Mill plus Sneijder would be a good deal, and then we could get Silva

That would be acceptable i suppose but still don't wanna lose Xabi.

mates, its not doom and gloom if Xabi leaves, we may not bring in a similar xabi mold, but we may get a better midfielder, you never know, Aquilani could turn out to be immense.

Aquilani is too injury prone mate.. Would play hardly 20 out of 40 games... I would prefer sneijder or someone similar to cesc fabregas...

Good luck to the guy

I know some people will be annoyed that he has asked for a transfer but it was a last resort on his behalf. I dont think he would have ever asked for it if Rafa wasn't so stubborn. FWIW I also think Rafa was right to hold out for the right price. It was unfortunate that it had to come to this series of events. Make no mistake we are losing a rare breed of midfielders and he will sorely missed in out team, it will be interesting to see how Rafa is going to address this. There is talk about Cattermole. Can he come straight in and fill Xabis boots? He has no experience at a big club and given the choice I think id prefer to see Lucas step up, at least he knows what is required from him and has done the job on numerous occasions in the last 2 seasons. I believe he can make the step to the next level, he has the potential and has shown it before (remember the ball he played into Gerrard for the goal against Newcastle away last season)

As for Xabi, it will be sad to see him go but he has given us 5 good years and leaves with a CL medal and a reputation as one of the best passers of the ball in the world and we have made a tidy profit. We move on.

I know it's not the end of the world and to be honest we have lost big players for us in the past but we did so well last year and i feel that Xabi was a very big part of that, so to lose him now is a massive disappointment.

The problem with Sneider or similar is they are tiny, and as we already have Masch who's hardly tall we may struggle without any height in midfield.

Aquilani is over 6ft, as is that Spanish lad who's name escapes me, and may give us a better balanced midfield (height wise anyway. )

i agree.

all in all it's been a privilege to watch the guy play for liverpool but it's now time we moved on. to be honest i'm just glad the issue can be resolved now as it's dragged on far too long for my liking.

I for one think that your probably right Dundalk in that Rafa will expect same as us for Lucas to step up a level, as Rafa has huge faith in him. And if we make a profit it would be so nice to see someone like Silva come in.

In that case we should be getting Daniele De Rossi... Javi Martinez is too young and doesnt have the experience at a top club...

I did say he was gonna go in the end.

Where's Nanny and who's on suicide watch :D

I've brought my red shirt, I've brought my new trabs, and the camera, and Uncle Alberto seems to have let me down, Alonso hasn't arrived yet.  I trusted the man because he introduced me Alonso's dad but what a dissapointment I wanted to see Alonso today  :no

No suicides as of yet  :D
