think it quite amazing how quickly people are writing of hughes - the guy is still learning to be a manager - did very well with both wales and blackburn

He' out of his depth in a team that are supposedly trying to break the top 4!

Rafa,Fergie,Ancellotti and Wenger are in a totaly different League than him and it will show when his ££ fail to buy him whats expected!
To be in the top 4 and stay there you need to be a very good team, one of the best in Europe...to be this you need one of the best managers in Europe!
Hughes is not that and I doubt ever will be!

He is not even in charge properly. Id say most of the transfers are probably 'requested' by the chariman.

Throwing so may good players at a manager like Hughes will never work!
He wont be able to run the team..all the players they are signing think they are gods gift....Too many egos mate!

The wheels wont even get on,never mind fall off until they have a manager that deserves and commands respect! :nod

I wonder what the odds are for Mourinho to be there by the end of the season

Fuc'king Zero.....Mourinho is articulate and has a brain even though he is a prize tool!

How about if they told him he could have 10m a year for being the boss?

Put it in the Man City thread my dear...I may get carded for overythrowing the boundaries of exhaustion in an un apt thread or something!
Go outta here take first left, then an immediate right and that is the Man City thread....Take no notice of the guy on the door, its Woof,he is probably sleeping..just walk on in!
Watch out for Bob though...hes a Ninja! :D

What the feck are you two talking about  :Oo:

For the record I think if Alonso goes to the chavs or Citeh then he's an absolute fecking disgrace, I mean what possible motivation would there be for leaving LFC and going to them?

I also have to say that I will be a bit surprised if Hughes is still manager come the end of the season, hell I'm surprised he's manager at the moment.

JAMIE CARRAGHER has led the call for Liverpool to keep Real Madrid target Xabi Alonso.

Defender Carragher, 31, said: "The feeling within the squad is that he's a top player.

"And you do not want to lose your top players. Hopefully it can be sorted out as soon as possible.

"If the club thinks it is in their best interests then sometimes you have to do what is in the best interests of the club.

"We all go through these situations - well hopefully not me - I just hope it gets sorted out."

Spanish midfielder Alonso is with the Reds squad in Thailand for the start of the Asian leg of their tour but has kept a low profile.

Did anyone notice that Kristian Nemeth was wearing the number 14 shirt in the game against Thailand?

I was in Singapore airport at the time and only saw the first 10 mins was unsure if anyone made a big deal about it or not..

The wantaway Spanish star pulled out of yesterday's 1-1 friendly draw with Thailand and refused to pledge his future to the club when quizzed by fans in Bangkok. Alonso, 27, clearly feels he needs to up the ante in his bid to force through a transfer.

He is adamant he does not want to play under Benitez, who is determined to resist Barcelona's bid to sign Javier Mascherano, because of the way he feels he has been treated over the last 12 months.

The midfielder was a surprise absentee from the match against Peter Reid's Thailand. He withdrew less than 24 hours before kickoff, citing an ankle injury.

He was non-committal during a public appearance in Bangkok with Albert Riera, Jay Spearing and David Ngog when Thai fans begged him to stay. Asked if he would remain at Liverpool, Alonso replied: "It's difficult to give any guarantees. For now, I'm just enjoying myself in Thailand."

It would be interesting to maybe hear from any fans that 'quizzed him'. Maybe Pewee was there? :D

Well if he was mate it's unlikely you'll get to find out any information off him on here.

What did Peewee get such a long sentence for? Did he commit murder or was
he a witness to the crime and with hold evidence.

Peewee's not relevant to the Alonso situation...besides he would have been off harassing Kuyt anyway. :D
