But the way some people have spoke about him around here, you'd think they'd be an army of teams fighting for his signature.

Anyway good luck to him if he does leave, he does come accross as a true proffesional and a loyal fella. Hats off to him.

Yes I would

I am not so sure. I thought if we could sell Alonso for more than Barry it was a good deal. We would be getting a player in form, prem proven with a few more "options" to his CM game as well as a versatile player who can play in a number of positions, while using the money to strengthen in other areas.

Now we are probably going to lose money on the deal I am not quite so keen.

I think Barry may be marginally better but he's also older than Alonso, will have to "settle" into the club and we still don't know how he will fit in with Masch and Gerrard.

Certainly the fact that Masch and Lucas are going to the Olympics will throw him in the deep end if he comes. 

TBH I don't think either of them's worth a penny over £14million anyway
