it doesn't help that he's getting no protection from referees whatsoever this season. he's getting kicked to pieces every match.

I think thats probably from the lesser teams whose defenders have more to prove. Its also down to the way were playing at the minute. As Ive said if Aquilani is allowed to flourish we will see a different shape and different movement.

So at which point he stars for Spain attracting the biggest clubs with money to come and bid for him at which point Liverpool take because they finished 5th or 6th and are under pressure from the owners to take the bid because of financial difficulties and Torres wondering what dirrection the club is going in leaves.which in turn decides Gerrard at long last that he should leave the club.

Doom and gloom view I know but a realistic one at that.

He is probably the best striker in the world in his position so you can't blame him for wanting to win things. If we are not able to bring in more players of his calibre to play around him then you can't blame him for wanting to leave.

Yup, if I was the best striker in the world i would not want to be playing in the europa league.

simplemente el mejor (freetranslation.com)

50 goals in just 72 Premiership appearances

[b]TORRES (PREMIERSHIP)[b]

Home : 35 goals in 38 apps (0.921 goals/app)
Away : 15 goals in 34 apps (0.441 goals/app)

A little surprisingly, his 12 goals in other competitions are more evenly split home and away, slightly in favour of away (7 in 16 away compared to 5 in 15 at home)

Yes, but that's too unpassionate. For this context, I'd say Torres es el puto amo (the fúcking owner, the one who rules the place)!!  :bowdown

I remembered an article i read in 442, Van Basten retired early at age 28 as he was too "damaged" by rough tackles to play on.

Hopefully referees can protected players more from malicous fouls.
and yes, Torres will hate us if Rafa force him to miss the World Cup.

No need to discuss the source but as Torres is quoted I see this as great from the lad -

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is putting in up to five hours extra training a day in order to boost his fitness so he can last the season. "One of the reasons I'm working really hard is because I know in this situation Liverpool need every player fit," said Torres.
