In the last 9 years, only the LoTR's trilogy and 300 looked interesting enough for me to go to the cinema. This is up there with LoTR's for anticipation. Looks outstanding. Love the creature designs and the setting. I think Hollywood has been sorely lacking this kind of imagination. Can't wait to see it. My cup of tea indeed.

Live action adaptations of manga have always historically been :censored: poor. I will check it out though still.

It's not based from a Manga, though.

Oh yes now I think about it you are right.

However there is a version of Avatar from the manga/anime in the works by M Night Shymalalalalaallalaalan but I think he has had to change the working title to something else.

Aye, there is an anime called Avatar, and if M knight what's-his-name is making something like that, then it's going to be complete bollox, like his last couple of films. Not a fan of him at all.

I watched Surrogates before I knew the idea behind Avatar, and I always wondered why it was called that. Surrogates had a decent idea that was poorly executed. Turns out that Avatar is a similar idea, only this time the execution of that idea looks set to be perfectly written and a lot more interesting.

Anyone seen that "The 4th Kind" yet? It's the alien abduction one.

Nope, but Mrs Jovavich is in that. She's not bad. I'd give her a probing of the close encounter kind.

Watched Paranormal Activity. I wouldnt say I was scared but aside from the Exorcist this is the only other film that has genuinley left me feeling a bit uneasy.

Watched Beyond a Reasonable Doubt last night, Michael Douglas plays a good part but the film is very average with obvious "twists". Worth watching on a rainy day 5/10 would be 4/10 but Douglas is always excellent as a smooth slimy D.A..

Watched "Pandorum" the other night, pretty engrossing sci fi movie touches loads of familar bases , ravenous aliens, crew of psychotic earthings, end of mankind/earth etc.

Watched Joan of Arc the other day, as soon as I say Mila Jankovitch was in it my hopes fell but it was actually an excellent performance by her plus Dustin Hoffman was his usual excellent qaulity. It's on Sky Movies at the moment and is a great film.
