It seems that "when the year ends in 1" is synomous with spudz optimism. I decided to have a look at Liverpool's top flight seasons and see if there were any such "omens" for us. With 18 league titles you would hope there might be some omens, who knows.

League Titles = 2 (1979/80, 1989/90)
Runners-up = 1
3rd = 0
4th = 2

Last 3 = 4th, 1st, 1st

Seasons = 9
League Titles = 1 (1900/01)
Runners-up = 1

Last 3 = 3rd, 2nd, 5th

League Titles = 2 (1921/22, 1981/82)

Last 3 = 2nd, 7th, 2nd

Not the best of omens, two titles in nine seasons when the season ends 9/0, BUT we've won the league two of the last three times the season has ended 9/0 so who knows. 5/6 is the best for us, winning half the time and even though we only finished 3rd in 2005/06, it was still a very good season with 82 points and we won ten in a row and nine in a row, the kind of form that, if repeated, could win us a long awaited 19th

Could go with the "haven't won it for 19 years so based on that we'll never win it".

And for those that missed the "what does it mean part", I did state we've won it two times out of the last three the season ended 9/0. The previous failure was under Gerard Houllier, if Rafa is nearly as good as a lot of people on here give him credit for then it's in the bag
