It seems that "when the year ends in 1" is synomous with spudz optimism. I decided to have a look at Liverpool's top flight seasons and see if there were any such "omens" for us. With 18 league titles you would hope there might be some omens, who knows.

Not the best of omens, two titles in nine seasons when the season ends 9/0, BUT we've won the league two of the last three times the season has ended 9/0 so who knows. 5/6 is the best for us, winning half the time and even though we only finished 3rd in 2005/06, it was still a very good season with 82 points and we won ten in a row and nine in a row, the kind of form that, if repeated, could win us a long awaited 19th
