16.07.09 | tribalfootball.com

Albacete midfielder Ritchie Kitoko is interesting Liverpool.

The Times says Liverpool have expressed interest in the 21 year-old Belgian.

Kitoko has established himself as one of the brightest talents playing outside of the Primera Liga in Spain.

Liverpool To Spend Potential Xabi Alonso Cash On Valencia's David Silva - Report

The Reds still want their Basque star to stay, but if he does leave, they will try and sign Silva with the money...

16 Jul 2009 04:43:00

Should Liverpool sell Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, Rafa Benitez will aim to spend most of the money on David Silva.

Benitez is still desperate to hold on to Alonso, but recognises that the player wants to leave the club. Thus, he might have to accept a bid of around €35 million from Los Merengues.

According to The Daily Telegraph, if Madrid produce the cash, Benitez will accept the bid and then chase Silva. The pint-sized star has long been a favourite of Benitez's, and given his former Valencia connections, he believes he can convince Los Che to sell.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United have all shown an interest in Silva in the past, while the player has previously stated that he would prefer to remain in Spain, if he had to leave Valencia.

It is believed that Benitez will use any remaining money to offer Javier Mascherano an improved deal, so that he does not lose both his holding midfielders.

Good news? I think so.

Report: Liverpool To Make Formal Bid For Roma Ace Alberto Aquilani

Representatives from Liverpool are set to arrive in Rome to table a sizeable offer for ‘Il Principino’.

16 Jul 2009 07:35:50

The gossip mill surrounding the future of Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani is springing back into action in the Eternal City, as press reports claim that Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is poised to make an official offer for the 25-year-old.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that a Reds delegation is expected in Rome today to table a bid in the region of  €15-18 million to lure the Italian international to Anfield should Spanish star Xabi Alonso be allowed to join Real Madrid.

The player would be offered a five-year deal worth €3m per season.

Aquilani is tied to the Giallorossi until June 2013 after signing an extension last May and has repeatedly stressed his desire to remain at his hometown club.

But the Lupi are in dire economic straits and will be forced to sell at least one of their top stars this summer after takeover negotiations with a Swiss consortium broke down.

Aquilani is currently sidelined after undergoing ankle surgery in May and will travel to the Netherlands for a consultation next week.

I guess my last story is false...

Talk Of Alberto Aquilani Making A Move From Roma To Liverpool Is ‘Stupid’ – Agent

It seems as if there is no weight to the rumours linking the Italian with Liverpool...

16 Jul 2009 10:23:41

Reports linking Roma ace Alberto Aquilani with a switch to Premier League side Liverpool are far from accurate, according to the player's agent, Franco Zavaglia, who has met the exit talk with an antithetical view.

Today's Gazzetta Dello Sport carried a report claiming Aquilani was the subject of an €18 million bid from the Reds. The speculation emerged when reports suggested 'Pool were looking at replacements for Xabi Alonso, who has been tipped to join Real Madrid.

However, the possibility of seeing Aquilani join fellow Italian Andrea Dossena at Anfield seems slim.

"Alberto to Liverpool? Lets not talk about stupid things," the agent exclaimed to Romagiallorossa.com.

"There is no point in talking about this as there is nothing true or concrete.

"The player has only recently renewed his deal and he is working hard to recover from injury and give his best to Roma."

Aquilani has always pledged allegiance to Roma in the past. The 25-year-old is recovering from ankle surgery and he is expected to return to training within the next few weeks.

That makes it even more of a steal. Rafa should have signed him up. Dossena is :censored: and Aurelio is injured so we only have Insua at LB, Maxwell would have given us XP and good crosses from the left, missed chance.
