Hmm, if it takes place mostly in America, then I'd not be surprised and say no. There's actually a lot of people there that still don't know what day 9/11 happened on, even though it's quiet blatently obvious as the answer is the official name of the actual event.

I know sticking the boot into Americans is easy sport for most of the world (including a lot of Canadians I know) but don't you ever get a little tired of sounding smug and bitter in equal measure? ???

Not really, no.

'Rescue Dawn'

It's a film about a US pilot (Dieter Dengler) who was shot down over Laos in 1965. His mission was top secret, cos the Yanks shouldn't have been near Laos (or Vietnam IMO). However, he gets caught by the Pathet Lao (partisans on the side of the NVA) and placed in a POW camp with a few other POW's. Two Americans and three Asians.

Anyway, it goes on to shoe their experiences in the camp, the susequent breakout and the hard slog through the jungle.

It's by Werner Herzog and has Christian Bale and Jeremy Davies in it, who are very good although I'm a fan of neither. But, both actors seem to have the ability to alter their body shape significantly for the sake of a role and they tacle their parts very well. So does Steve Zahn.

The name sounds silly, but makes sense in the end. It's based on 'Little Dieter needs to fly'. Herzog's 1998 documentary on Dengler.

Watched "Last House on the Left" last night. I didn't see the original but found this fairly gripping , deffo worth a look if you like violent thrillers.

from slashfilm
Masters of horror Wes Craven and Sean Cunningham revisit their landmark film that launched Craven’s directing career and influenced decades of horror films to follow: The Last House on the Left. Bringing one of the most notorious thrillers of all time to a new generation, they produce the story that explores how far two ordinary people will go to exact revenge on the sociopaths who harmed their child.

The night she arrives at the remote Collingwood lakehouse, Mari (Sara Paxton) and her friend are kidnapped by a prison escapee and his crew. Terrified and left for dead, Mari’s only hope is to make it back to parents John and Emma (Tony Goldwyn and Monica Potter). Unfortunately, her attackers unknowingly seek shelter at the one place she could be safe. And when her family learns the horrifying story, they will make three strangers curse the day they came to The Last House on the Left.

Was watching it last night Igor and started to fall asleep so bu'ggered off to bed, was about halfway through the movie and hadn't had one laugh out loud moment  :( .

Disappointed as the hype makes the movie out to be a top of the shop comedy. I'll give it another go over the weekend.

Bruno has to be one of the funniest films ever. The part when the priest gives him a speech about going straight and then he asks "are you hitting on me?"

10/10.

I see Watchmen the other night. Best film ive seen in a long time.
