Transformers 2

Can't be bolloxed writing out the whole title. It's more of the same, really, only just more action. Too much if you ask me. It's better than the first, but that's not saying much. However, if you're going to see it with kids, then it's a good excuse to watch big robots you loved as a kid beating the f*ck out of each other. The kid in you will be thankful you went to see it if you've kids, and kids will absolutely love it. If I am to be harsh about it, it's the fact that I just don't like the very Americanised humour that a lot of the robots portray at times. The two Autobot twins are a prime example of it, taking on board a lot of modern pop culture gangster rap humour to the point where it just gets on your tits. I could give an eloquent account of the film like I'm some sort of film buff, but what's the point? Oh, I have to score it now. That's right.

7/10 for me. If it weren't for the reek of cheese that came from the dialog at times, I'd have added an extra .5 to it.

So...... back to "5 minutes in Heaven" , Baz, Neesons character talks about growing up in the "Tartans" and then going on to join the UVF. What were the "Tartans" ?

I knew of a group years ago called the Finaghy Young Tartan years ago,but they were just a gang of kids who beat people up for coming into their area, not related to any organisation..lol.There was also the SYT,Shankill Young Tartan.I have'nt seen that movie though.
I guess it may mean he was in something like the YCV..(Young Citizen Volunteers) or UYM (Ulster Young Militants)
Basically junior ranks of the UVF or UDA/UFF that recruit children that are too young to be "sworn in" to a paramilitary organisation..the thought being I guess that to get them of the same mindset as "us" and when they are old enough they will join our ranks.

Im not sure as I have not seen the movie,it may mean what I say above or it may mean he was just part of a local street gang!

Ok , check the movie out if you get the chance Baz. although I didn't rate it , it may strike a chord with those that live in NI and endured the "troubles" .

not seen, but wanna, any horror Sam Raimi makes is gonna be decent.

Try the stand or something, easy to watch, goes on for ages so you can phase out...

The ruins is pretty decent mate..a wee bit different!I'll not give it away but its kinda mad what the story is based on(what the killer is)
Maybe a bit far fetched like but I enjoyed it!
Worth watching!! :nod

I watched the start of Drag me to Hell earlier and it looks great, the volume on the copy was'nt great so Ill wait for a better one!
That guy has a twisted sense of humour,he likes to turn your stomach a bit, that was evident after about 15 minutes.Cant wait to get a better copy!

Watched "Dead Snow" last night. A Norwegian "horror/gore" movie that falls somewhere between Shaun of the Dead" and "The Evil Dead" . Nothing we haven't seen before except that the Zombies are all Nazi soldiers from WW2 and they're f'uckin' quick :D . A good laugh if you like this knd of stuff.
