Saviola would be a decent option as he's scored goals wherever he's been and would be good backup for Nando.

His overall record is 153 in 372 games. If he can adapt ok here he should do well.

Atletico open to Aguero offers
Madrid could sell striker if they receive an 'interesting offer'

full story

obviously we cant afford him, but that just smacks of them seeing how much of the £80m they could get from utd if they came sniffing.

Well, at least here there are levelheaded responses.
At rawk noone thinks Aguero, Villa, Silva, etc will accept any other club outside Spain besides us. So even if we are skint
there is absolutely no chance Chelski or manure can sign anyone no matter how much money they offer... :no

Pompey defender Johnson looks the right man for Liverpool boss Benitez

Rafa Benitez will step up his efforts to finance a deal for Glen Johnson over the weekend and hopes to unveil the England right back as his first summer signing in the next few days.
Manchester City and Bayern Munich have enquired about Johnson, but Chelsea are Liverpool's chief rivals for his signature after having a £17million bid accepted by Portsmouth, as revealed in Sportsmail last week

However, Benitez remains confident of seeing off the 24-year-old's former club after it emerged that Anfield would be his preferred destination.
Raising the necessary finance appears to be the Liverpool manager's main stumbling block, but it is understood he is ready to utilise an outstanding amount from Peter Crouch's move to Portsmouth - thought to be around £7million - to top up his available funds and match Chelsea's £17million offer.
That should be enough to push a deal through for a player who has become Benitez's No 1 target in recent weeks.
Johnson's attacking forays down the right for Portsmouth and, in particular, England have convinced Benitez of his worth, but his arrival will leave little leeway for further strengthening.
Benitez has also lodged a £2m bid for Johnson's Fratton Park team-mate Sylvain Distin, but will have to consider selling before making any other signings.
He could raise badly needed revenue by sacrificing Yossi Benayoun after reports in Israel that Tottenham, as well as Barcelona, had made an approach for the midfielder.
Benayoun has been priced at £12m for foreign clubs but would cost even more for any of Liverpool's Barclays Premier League rivals.

REAL MADRID are offering Arjen Robben to Liverpool in a straight swap for Xabi Alonso.

Kop boss Rafa Benitez is reluctant to sell Spanish midfield star Alonso and has already turned down an £18million bid.

But Real will also try to tempt Benitez by offering an alternative deal of £18m cash plus Gabriel Heinze if he turns down Dutch winger Robben.

Real need to raise cash after signing Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo for a combined £142m.

And former Chelsea star Robben is their most marketable asset.

Real Madrid sources say that Liverpool put a £27m price tag on Alonso. By offering Robben, president Florentino Perez can avoid splashing out another massive fee.

But Benitez could be wary of the Dutchman's woeful injury record since his £27m move to the Bernabeu two years ago.

And the prospect of bringing in full-back Heinze could be far more tempting one for the Anfield boss.

Benitez targeted the Argie defender two years ago when he left Manchester United.

Back then, Alex Ferguson blocked the deal and Heinze ended up at Real.

But Benitez is still looking for a reliable left-back, and Heinze fits that bill.
