Can't help but thinking Van Donkeyface would be a risky bet....he's been injured quite a bit in recent seasons, hasn't he ?
As for Robben, I just think he's a knacker so No, straight off.....

Not very constructive, I know, but I can't think of a suitable addition off the top of me head !

Looking back it's amazing we got Torres for the amount we paid in the end.

Bloody´ell Bob, will have to answer that one when I get home tonight but - which 5 - obviosuly RB doesnt call me up to ask my opinion but there has been sufficient common opinion without official denials to suggest that there were a number of under performing lads lined up for the boot. Lets not pretend that wasnt the case.....

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has dismissed suggestions he is trying to sign Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

There were claims in Italy on Monday that Napoli had been approached by an agent acting as an intermediary for Liverpool over a possible £15m deal for the 24 year-old Argentina international.

And the player's advisor Eduardo Rossetto insisted that "Liverpool's proposal is true."

However, Benitez said on Tuesday: "We never contacted Lavezzi and we have no intention of doing so. We want to put a stop to these rumours."

Liverpool have also reaffirmed their position on Javier Mascherano, who has been linked with Barcelona, insisting the player is not for sale.

Benitez will no doubt be displeased to learn that Mascherano's agent claims the midfielder would like to join Barcelona.

Walter Tamer told the 'Tu diras' programme on RAC1: "If a club like Barcelona wants to strengthen its squad after having won everything and having completed a brilliant season, obviously the player is going to say yes, we want to play there.

"It would make Javier very proud that a club like Barcelona pay him attention after such an incredible year. I believe a transfer would be feasible.

"I've spoken to (Barca sporting director) Txiki Begiristain, but we have not been in touch for some time."

Thank goodness that Rafa does not want this guy.  He is really not what we need.

RVN is 33, and a maybe little too old I think.  Although at £1.5m  he isn't a big risk...same goes for Owen on a pay as you play.

If nothing else they would be great mentors to Ngog, Babel and even Torres might learn a bit etc in training.

I'd back either of them to bag double figures with mainly subs appearances.

It doesn't solve our long term future, but then again Rafa has bought about 354 kids in the past five years so one day soon, we're going to see one in the first team.....aren't we???

I don't disagree that there are several lads who are surplus to requirements by most supporters' reckoning, mate.  I question whether Rafa has ever felt the same way, though.  I certainly haven't read anything from him that suggests he had a fire sale in mind.

Just for fun, I'll take a stab at the five you're thinking of in addition to Voronin, Lucas and Babel:

Dossena (who probably will go)
El Zhar (?)
Ngog (?)
Degen (?)
Itandje (?)

How'd I do? :D  I think some Italian club might pay us decent money for Dossena (not what we paid for him though) but the others aren't likely to fetch us much, I wouldn't think.  Still, every little bit counts so I'd be all for doing what we can to move most of these fellows on (with the possible exception of Ngog).

I don't think Babel would be classified as galactico material. But that swap does sound appealing.

Sporting Life website reporting Chelsea 'may' make a bid for Aguero.
£45 million! If that's true no wonder we cannot compete money wise.

I think we should go for drogba , last year of his contract and wouldn't cost the world . Tuncay looks like he could be here next season . Distin is cheap at 2 million and we need just one top winger be it silva or lavezzi

would perfer silva given the option mate, i'm only going on what has been said on this site but lavezzi doesn't sound that great

if he is the one we get though then i will have my fingers crossed and hope that he turns out to be a great signing

well we can all hope and wish

not sure on the drogba one mate i think he is just a pain in the :censored: and could upset the flow as he thinks he is bigger than he is ( he believes his own hype )

Totally agree, wouldn't want that c£nt Drogba anywhere near our club, disgrace of a player, so much talent yet so much cheating and such a bad attitude.
