Benitez: Torres still troubled by hamstring woes
LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is still being troubled by a hamstring injury that has restricted his appearances in the club's fading pursuit of the Premier League title.
The Spain international returned from a two-week layoff Saturday to help the Reds beat West Ham 3-0 despite struggling for fitness.
"The hamstring is a problem for Fernando, he was working with the physios this week, but not his teammates on the pitch," manager Rafa Benitez said. "I think next week he will be training normally with the team and hopefully will be fit for the next two games.
"Since Fernando and (Steven) Gerrard didn't train normally this week they weren't going to be sharp or fit. But anyway, you can see both players are a threat and a very good influence for the team."
Torres has scored 16 goals this season, compared with 33 in his debut campaign last year.
Despite his injury concerns, Torres is determined to represent European champion Spain at the Confederations Cup next month.

Rafa needs to step in and have a word with him. There is no commercial need for him to go to the confederations cup. As it is he will be coming on the pre season tour so he should really sit this one out. Otherwise we need to maybe get in another striker of his quality to rotate him with as we cannot keep relying on him next season if he constantly in and out with injury.
