OMG just watched it there, its was like Hatton was in slow motion. Every time Ricky threw a shot Pacquiao had slipped it and landed one of his own before Hattons shot had even completed. Carrying that speed AND power up all those weights is incredible. I always liked Ricky Hatton compared to some of the other cocky British fighters who would be all hype until they inevitably get KOd by the first name fighter under 40 they fought, however his limitations were well and truely exposed here. His lack of technical boxing skills made Pacmans job easy, simply trying to walk inside with no head movement or leading jab left him exposed time and time again and lets not forget this was Hattons ideal weight, 140lbs were he'd never lost. I kinda hope this is the last we see him in a ring but I think hes a great future ahead of him with Media and TV work and the like because hes easily our most popular fighter since big Frank!
As for Pacquaio vs Mayweather, if it happens it'll have to be at a max of 140lbs, which the Pretty Boy hasnt fought at in a few years, and wouldnt fight at against Hatton. I think alot of people are jumping the gun a bit by saying that Manny would destroy Floyd based soley on what they saw last night, Mayweather and Hattons fighting styles are polar opposites and I cant see Pacman landing so many vicious shots with such ease. Saying that, Freddie Roach worked out a teriffic gameplan against Mayweather when he fought De La Hoya and if Oscar hadnt ran out of gas would have got the decision. Lets just hope Mayweather comes throught his fight with Marquez (who is another teriffic fighter and a great counter puncher, but has lost previously to Pacquiao) in some style and we get this showdown sooner rather than later.
