One of the few youngsters that did not go on loan towards the end of last year.  He helped us win the FA youth cup 2 years ago while he was also captaining the reserves, played in some of the early friendlys last year and was an unused sub against pompey.  - wiki

Also, given Paletta's atrocious form last season he would have to be considered 4th pick for Central Defence after Carra, Agger, and Hyypia

Had a torrid time in at least one of the friendlies if I remember rightly - was it him that was responsible for a late deciding goal in that game where Reina came on as an outfield sub?

His future should be getting a bit clearer now he's aged 18 I would have thought - two years in the youth and reserve set-up. Either he's first team squad material or he's not by this point.

Yeh i'm from Lincoln and watched this guy play. He was top class. Even at 16, he could hack it with the first team. Do watch out for some promising talent coming out of Sincil Bank. Do research the likes of Lee Frecklington, who has just joined Peterborough. He is top class. Then there's Jeff Hughes who was sold to Crystal Palace for a six figure sum. As well as the likes of Dany N'Guessan who has been looked at by some premier league clubs. The youth system here is really top quality for the size of the club. We beat a near on full strength Villa side in pre-season 3-1. Lost a bit of that from throughout the year. Oh, and nice to see Geoff Horsefield playing again (on a short-term deal at Lincoln) after recovering from testicular cancer.

With both Agger and Skrtel our future partnership and Jamie probably starting the majority of games for next season at least it might be the best move for him.
