As much as i don't like Robben i think he was right up there with Lampard and Terry to help chelsea to the League, Still would want Silva over him though.

HA! is that  supposed to be pounds? not lira or francs or deutche marks?

Marca speculates about Robben, but doesn't mention the 100 M.

It's typical Marca stuff. They have been beaten by Liverpool, and one way they have to feel better is to come here and sign up Gerrard and Alonso.

They've known early enough Gerrard is out of reach, so they start talking about the possible exchange coins for the basque, in this case Robben.

Mind you, I think they're going to offer silly money for Alonso, don't think about Alonso's quality, Real Madrid doesn't sign only for that, there are other reasons (like appeasing the voices that say Madrid should play with more Spaniards). As I say, I think they're going to offer silly money, and I'm not sure Rafa won't accept it.

It would be a pity not to watch Xabi playing week in week out for me, but if it's a Madridesque offer, and they offer names like Robben, it's going to be complex to say no.  :( , it's just a gut feeling I have.

Not a chance in hell i would take Robben over Xabi ,Madrid can feck off. An ill be fumin with Rafa if he even thinks of selling him. He is one of our best players fact, we are a much better team when he is in the side fact,

Keep your noses away from our best players , yeh cheeky little gets,
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Despite Raul Albiol stating publicly that he wants to stay at Valencia for life the word out of Valencia is that he is definitely one of the stars that could be sold to ease the clubs financial burden.

In fact Liverpool have maintained contact with Valencia over Albiol and sources have said in Valenican newspapers that talks are in fact ongoing.

Valencia are so desperate to hold on to David Silva and David Villa that they are prepared to sell other players in order to appease their creditors and Albiol is one of those players that will become available unless there is a turnaround in the Spanish clubs fortunes.

Liverpool have tabled a bid in the region of £10 million while the Spanish club will not go below £13 million for the 23 year old central defender.

Valenica have accepted that they must sell some players but fear that the sale of their top stars would see the demise of a once great club and therefore they are caught between a rock and a hard place, if they don’t make sales they could go under, if they do make sales they could destroy the core of the team.

It is this reasoning that has forced them to accept that the likes of Albiol can be sold otherwise they would have no option but to sell Villa and Silva and as Albiol and many other players before him and after him will find out it is the club and not the player that will have the final say.

Benitez has long been an admirer of the player and may have been disheartened to have heard his statements recently but Benitez is a very determined character with extensive contacts at Valenica and if anyone can persuade both the club and player that this deal is best all round it is him.

We can be certain that some players will be sold out of Valencia come the end of the season and if Valenica have anything to do with it, it will not be Villa or Silva and that will open the door for Liverpool to continue their pursuit of Albiol.

Wouldn't mind Albiol if we knew Agger was leaving. Also might be worth trying to get one of Vicente or Joaquin if its on the cheap and I am a big fan of Juan Mata. Miguel would be decent cover for Arbeloa although he is getting a bit old. Another decent youngster on the right side in Pablo Hernandez. And Valencia own the rights to Ever Banega who I think could be a nice replacement for Lucas. Banega and Insua both come from Boca and were teammates on the Argentina side that won the 07 U20 world cup. He is someone I think would benefit a lot from being coached by Rafa and playing with Mascherano and Alonso

Doesn't Vicente play on the left? We still don't know if Rafa will keep Dossena, if he does he will surley be used more at LM instead of at LB.

Would love Joaquin here though.

David Silva plays on the left but everybody seems to want him. But I agree that Joaquin would make more sense than Vicente, Joaquin is having a pretty decent campaign, especially at the start, haven't seen as much of Valencia of late.

I think the priority for rafa is a right back, Carragher won´t play as fullback when Arbeloa gets injured.

What is the extent of Valencia's debts? I heard it was 450m euros. :O

Whatever the case they'll be a fire sale there at the end of the season.

goltv broadcasts 4 or 5 games from Spain every week, plus an hour long highlight show. We also get Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Argentina games too (and French, urugyuan, Ecuadorian, but I don't have time for those)  Russian league coming soon.  Also starting to follow the NRL, Super 14, Aussie Rules, GAA, and the Guiness Premiership :D Can't seem to find Super League on tv, shame because I prefer league to union.  We also go the South American U20 championships and soon to come the U17s
