Manu Utd are too ugly to win the league again, we are more beautiful, destiny points to us.

From this point on Man Utd need to loose 2 more games than us for us to win the premiership.

What worries you!!! ???!!!

Mate, if Rafa Benitez wins the title this year I will be too busy kissing the guy's feet to be worrying about anything, and I will see it as absolute justification for any of the nonsense that has gone on before.

Jesus wept.  :no

I think people should have a play with this: Premier League Predictor - seeing as there are conflicting views of who should slip up, and how many times.

I put in results for Man U and us, with the game between us being a draw.
I put us and them winning everything (not saying that's realistic but it was just to compare the 2).
The exceptions being them drawing at home to Villa and Arsenal and away to Fulham, and us ONLY drawing
at home to Villa.
This leaves us on 89 pts and them on 87pts.

From what I can see, we need to have a very impressive run-in from now on, getting around
34 points from the next 13 games - basically we've got to win 10 or 11, not lose away to Man U
and then we've got a chance.

Our game away to Man U is key - lose that and we're fecked.

Matt McQueen - Liverpool 1892-1928.
Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

GYBS wrote:I remember during those years in the 80s when the mancs where ploding along winning the odd cup here and there spending more money that most clubs constantly changing the manager every club of years then the new manager would change players spend more money etc etc . Then in 86 they got Taggert - after 6 months Bobby Charlton wanted him sacked but the board said no - 4 years later after doing nothing of any significant they wanted him sacked again but a certainly Lee Martin saved his bacon by scoring the winner in the FA cup final . So they stuck with him still despite being nowhere in the league. The following season during the summer they backed him very well in the transfer market and then lo and behold they challenged for the title finally and only fell at the last hurdle to leeds . The next season he tweaked the team a little - adding a few more players and then looked what happened they won the title at least . Also during those early years he went mad looking for youngsters to improve his youth policy . Over the next 10 to 18 years those youngesters came through and through success and sticking and backing with everything he wanted with a manager the scum just grew . Now i am in now way saying that Rafa is like taggert and no way saying he will be as successful as him BUT he has improved us - he has taken us on a level - the one main problem he has had to face is while we improve so do the others - Yes arsenal and chelsea seem to be treading water this year but the Mancs have improved namely at the back and have added a 30 million pound striker to the team . It was always going to be hard for Rafa or any other manager to overhaul the mancs, chelsea and arsenal all in one go and was going to take time . At the moment it seems we are a bit better than Chelsea and Arsenal (if thats cause they got worse oh well - its still the same players namely as last couple of years) its just that final step now of overhauling the mancs . It may or may not happen this year (i Hope it does ) but IMO if we keep going then we will overhaul them (not every year) and we will win titles and be up there with them fighting it out . For me that means giving our current manager more time and backing from the owners and fans . I cant see him takiing us backwards in any way - we are up there now and we wont fall down . Yes rafa has made mistakes - every bloody manager has - even the greats . Rafa has done things and made us think WTF - but Rafa has made us competitive . As i have said to saint in a pm when we were chatting about this - This next summer is the crucial one - how he is backed by the owners and how he spends that backing and what players he brings in and if any of the youngesters he has bought can be brought through to the first team . Anyway end of my novel .

Summary- lets give Rafa a bit more time - let him see if his youngsters he has bought can come through and lets see if he can get the final bits to his jigsaw and see if that jigsaw can win us the title .

It's a good post.

I've had my occasional doubts as to whether he's taken us as far as he can and of course his substitutions leave a little explaining at times but the pro's far, far outweigh the cons. Istanbul obviously gets him a big tick in the pros' box and his obvious love of the club, city and its' traditions far, far outweigh any negatives that I sometimes have.

I've got us winning with 85 points over 82 points to Manure, well I can dream can't I.  :D
Problem is that was only calculating for us and Manure and included a lot of draws but I have not factored in Chelsea or Aston Villa, if they really go on a charge, or in Villa's case continue theirs, then it could be a bit interesting at the top.
