Alonso - 6.5 Lucky not to have 2 yellow cards but instead gets Lampard sent off. Nice long shot which went close but not dictating play like earlier in the year

Kuyt - 6 Did a great defensive job but offered nothing on the attack. Some very poor crosses but did look dangerous in the box.

Gerrard - 8 Dictated play and looked like the man to score for us. Combined well with Torres early.

Riera - 6.5 A few nice chances and duffed  a few more. Lack of right foot exposed him but was getting into dangerous positions.

Torres - 9 Very good all day, often against mutiple opponents he consistent looked dangerous. Cool header and a tap in to finish the day with a brace.

Subs:
Benayoun- 8 for the little time he spent on the field he was fantastic. Should start ahead of Kuyt next week

Babel -6 Tryed but could get past his man and gave up posession a bit in the 10 minutes he was on the field.

N'gog- got 30 sec on the field

When you really think about it he deserved the red card, Lampard that is.  Had Xabi not jumped he coulda broke his ankle or something, tackles going at a player when they are facing you are very dangerous.

What a win!! Torres showing his class finally and he didn't look as tired as he was against Wigan.  Everyone played their part except for Riera, he was cr@p unfortunately, really needs to up his game.  So happy though!! :D

never a red card, but who cares!  :D

we were the better team by a mile and the rent boys didn't have their first shot on target until mid way into the second half!  Great result and lets hope we can push on from this and get out of the rut we have been stuck in.
