after the bolton game, I thought we've turned up a notch in our performance and this game so far indicates that we are on our way for our usual good form in second half of the season... let's pray that this continues... roll on rafa's red machine...

Good performance by the team today, Gerrards was immense and was a class above everyone else on the pitch, even Lucas had a good game (finally). Only downside was that Robbie Keane was left out again, which was very disapointing considering he is finally showing some form now, and that Kuyt has been abysmal of late. Newcastle were awful and we took full advantage, the passing was slick, precise and always with a purpose. Were starting to come into form now at a crucial stage of the season lets hope its onwards and upwards from here :)

MOM for me was Lucas easily.

He put Benayoun through who layed of too Gerrard for the goal.
He put Gerrard through for the goal.
Forced a first rate save heading from a corner
Almost scored from close range in a scrap (probably should have)
Was put through with an easily layoff to N'gog (only to wrongly be called off side)
Absolutely pants'd Guthrie along side Mash all day

Today's performance was nothing short of sensational by the Brazilian wonderkid

Lucas played well shocker , wonder what people think of him against guthrie . He played well but gerrard was my mom by a distance . Really really good confidence booster this , but newcastle were p!ss poor.

Can't understand the grumbling about Kuyt today either. He played the classic target man role today with some tidy flick ons, holding the ball up well and winning majority of his header. Very reminiscent of Viduka at his best.

Top game by Kuyt.

5-1 eh?

What's Rafa think he's playing at picking that team selection? And how dare they go out and batter Newcastle 5-1 playing like that? I tell ya, the man...he know nothing.
