Ya, for sure.

I'd turned the game on at the 87th minute, only to find to my apparent glee that we were winning 5-1. Never seen the game, but apparently we played very well, no? Without Torres and Keane? 40 million quids worth of strikers. Who needs em?

What's Rafa think he's playing at picking that team selection? And how dare they go out and batter Newcastle 5-1 playing like that? I tell ya, the man...he know nothing.

many of us were shocked by the exclusion of Riera, Alonso and Keane and the inclusion of players who dont perform as well as the trio. dont come on after its all done and dusted and be all cocky showing us what an amazing fan you are. you always come onto match threads at the end and post cr@p like these. its getting old. we're all happy with the win so spare us all your tosh.

I tell you what is old, lad. Constant rebuke and detain, and downright faithlessness of the manager and his choices before a ball is even kicked. Judge the manager and his choices after the final whistle, not before it.

Why? So the happy clappy, like you, can bang on about how its all well and good we slag him off afterwards with hindsight and how the happy clappy, like you, can say "knee jerk reaction" and bang on about how great a fan they are and how rubbish everyone else is.

Do you know why alot of people have lost faith in the manager? Because of selections like today. It was a massive gamble, gambling is luck. Gambles don't always pay off.

To be quite honest, anyone who gambles is a mug (not saying I don't like a bet, everyone does) and thats exactly what Benitez done today. He's spun the roulette and got a winner, doesn't make up for all the times in the past he's got it wrong and all the times in the future he'll continue to get it wrong.

I totally agree with you Stu...today's lineup was a massive gamble by Rafa...it could so easy have backfired if the barcodes weren't so :censored: poor...resting Keane & Reira make no sense to me especially as Keane is very much a form player but it did pay off today. Playing your best team will get you more win more often than not so I hoped Rafa won't go back to his old tinkering way...

Totally agree with you and it is these tosspots that think they know better than Benitez and react without thinking that seem to be having a go at you. Their negativity is the total opposite to Shankly's kop - THEY ARE A BUNCH OF FKN WASTERS THAT CONTRIBUTE NOTHING - Fo Dne should be banned for the mindless shight that he comes out with !!!!!!!!!!!

Ya mar wasn't sayin that last night kid.

as annoying as it is, it keeps the pressure on us and if we keep responding in a manner such as today then so be it

bigmick wrote:And I tell you this now for free. don't let anybody come on here after the game, after we've won and tell me that the manager was right here. We've got our star striker injured, and we have another striker who we paid 20 million quid for, on the back of three goals in two games sitting on his erse. Even if we win this game, what about the chance for keane to build on his fledgeling Liverpool career? Absolutely ridiculous selection this is, without any redeeming feature unless Keane is injured.

I thought Keane picked up a knock on the warm up? Rafa was probably being cautious with him.

come on guys chill out :D  discuss the match instead

Lucas was a totally different player to what ive been seeing. he did all the things the used to do when playing for Gremio. Saint uploaded a video and its on the Lucas thread i think. the through ball to Gerrard showed amazing vision and he did have a good header saved by Given too.

Carragher isnt a RB. he was given alot of problems by Duff and we all know Carra isnt the fastest of players as Henry found out to his delight many times. rumors saying we are gonna but Glen Johnson? where would that leave Darby?

Hyypia is amazing really i got nothing bad to say. he could have scored 2 goals in the first half! though he misplaced a pass which caused Mash to foul Owen and get a yellow. speaking of Owen, he was totally useless and i hope the fans were booing him. he showed no intent or desire.

Alonso came on and our passing became more fluid. Ngog's contribution was falling down in the box. i would like to see more of him. Kuyt has been on a bad patch for awhile now and he should be dropped when Torres returns.

Insua was superb and he really needs to be given a 10 year contract asap. Benayoun played well too but he faded in the 2nd period.
