It says in the Mirror today that Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Brazilian wonder kid Keirrison, Barca and Valencia are known to be chasing him but if we can get him for £6m we should. Seen clips of him on youtube and he looks good

Since Messi was kissing LFCs :censored: in the news, maybe we should throw in a bid.  He thinks were going to win the CL, and he wants to jump aboard  :D

I'd rather take Messi over Tevez or Owen.  Can't stand Tevez, I don't rate him at all.  Ugly dirty tw@t he is.

Liverpool Target - Sergi Busquets
Biography

Sergi Busquets (born July 16, 1988 in Sabadell, Barcelona), is a Spanish footballer, currently playing for FC Barcelona in the defensive midfielder position. He is the son of another club former player, Carles Busquets, who played goalkeeper during the 1990s.

In 2003-04, Busquets joined FC Barcelona’s youth ranks, achieving 7 goals in 26 matches for the Juvenil A in 2006-07.

In 2007-08, he “upgraded” to FC Barcelona B, under former club great Josep Guardiola, and helped it achieve promotion to Segunda División B, with 2 goals in 23 appearances. In that season, Busquets would make his main squad debut, in a Copa Catalunya contest.

On September 13, 2008, he played his first La Liga match, 90 minutes in a 1-1 home draw against Racing de Santander. Busquets began playing regularly in the starting XI, being preferred over internationals Touré Yaya and Seydou Keita. During FC Barcelona’s Champions League match against FC Basel at St. Jakob-Park, on October 22, 2008, he scored the second goal in a 5-0 thrashing.

On October 11, 2008, Busquets earned his first cap for Spain’s under-21, in their 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualification play-offs first leg match, against Switzerland. He scored in the 17th minute but Spain lost the match 2-1, eventually emerging victorious 4-3 on aggregate.

Apart from Liverpool, even Arsenal have shown interest.

CHELSEA are weighing up a shock move for Michael Owen in January.

Boss Phil Scolari has been told budget cuts mean he has around £10million to spend on new players.

The Blues value 28-year-old Owen — who is out of contract next summer — at between £3m-5m.

Scolari is keen to recruit a top-class striker to cover for Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

His first choice was Brazil striker Luis Fabiano but Seville’s price tag of £25m has made that move impossible.

There is concern at Stamford Bridge about Owen’s injury record but they will monitor his fitness and form in the coming weeks before deciding on an offer.

Owen, who earns £108,000 a week at St James’ Park, is unlikely to be offered a similar salary at Chelsea.

Financial restructuring and worries over the number of matches he has played mean a smaller deal will be offered.

A weekly wage of £60,000 could then be topped up by a playing bonus to £100,000.

Chelsea may face competition from Spurs, though, who are also on the look-out for a striker.

Boss Harry Redknapp knows a move for Owen would be cheaper than signing Jermaine Defoe, who is valued at £12m by Portsmouth.

Owen, fit again after a groin injury, believes Newcastle will continue to head up the table.

He said: “We know we’re a decent team. If we have a good run, fifth, sixth or seventh place is not impossible

Does Owen really expect a club to pay him 60k for a handful of games a season? He needs his head checked.

Valencia could be the latest club ready to move for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso with the Reds willing to cash in. (Daily Mail)

Seems Alonso's good form hasn't yet earned him a stay of execution.

I doubt Rafa would let him go if he keeps playing the way he has mate!
Rumours like this are good though,it will keep him on his toes and producing his best! :D

Only three reasons I can think of that Alonso may be sold :-

1/ Rafa still holds a grudge of some sort

2/ Rafa thinks we need a different "style" of M/F player

3/ We need the money more than anyone thought.

Personally I would like to see a more creative midfielder added to the squad, but added rather than in replacement!
