S@int, Obama also RAISED the most money.  He had new breakthrough methods in political fundraising and most of it was 5, 10, 25 dollars at a time from people that he inspired at his rallies, and then he would "convert" them to work for him and get others to join and donate. It was like a Hope Pyramid Scheme for Change.

You can't really say that he bought the election because he wasn't spending a huge portion of personal wealth in the way that Hillary Clinton or Mitt Romney did.

Barack's dad was an African who visited the US on a student Visa, his mom was a poor white woman from Kansas, and his wife is just a lawyer and his wife's father was a water plant worker.

What has transpired has truly been amazing - what a change -how a nation can vote in a dumbwit like Bush - then elect a man clearly educated, articulate and using his experience of every day trials and tribulations to bring ppl together to vote for him - oh and he happened to be 'visibly' black although of mixed heritage.
I hope that this will be a turning point in history for many reasons - not just for the momentus occassion - but because America will be different in it's foriegn policy approaches.

I also hope that Obama does not become the victim of an assasination - interestingly most of the southern states chose to stick with the republicans.

It wil be interesting to see how this turns out !

If it would have been Joe Biden vs. Condy Rice (african american women and former sectretary of state under Bush)

I am sure that the southern states would have voted for Rice.

that comment is just as ignorant as any southerner that actually did that (which statistics showed was not the case)

Its not like in the voting booth it said "Black President: Fancy him or not your cup of tea?"

People in the south voted for McCain because he is a war hero, has more experience, and comes from a party with a (generally) much more conservative fiscal policy.

As I said earlier, there were more people (white and black) that actually voted FOR Obama BECAUSE of the color of his skin

At least give him a chance before coming out with stupid comments like that.

Why is it stupid?

Being a complete moron is part of the job description for the US Presidency.

Let's be totally, brutally honest about this, shall we?

The pathetic game show that is the US election is nothing but an utter f*cking farce. I'm suprised they didn't have cheerleaders and candyfloss.

For Christ's sake - I'm embarrassed for the yanks.

I'm disappointed with the American people, honestly. I mean, Micro Chips should have won it. I wanted to see him kick the bucket so that the circus could kick in with the bimbo being commander and chief of the most powerful (so they say) nation on Earth. But being poetically minded that I am, I say power is just an illusion that insecure and naive people like to cling onto like blanket, or when it comes down to it, power is really just a dick measuring contest. It's all nice and well beating the poor and small people of the world about with it, but f*ck with the big boys with nuclear capabilities, and power all of a sudden becomes rather moot. It just goes out the window once those babies start flying. We're all f*cked. Ah well, it would have been entertaining at least just to watch the charade.

I firmly believe that Obama and McCain would be lucky to be customer service reps at the front desk of ALDI in Britain.

It was like watching Dale Winton on Supermarket Sweep.
