Decent player , not what we're looking for seeing as we've got keane and torres and even kuyt for that position . Spend it on a right back , Rafinha or smth

A) Rafinha can't defend.
B) SMTH?
C) Heskey's actually been pretty awesome for England. I wouldn't mind having him in the squad. Don't forget that he works hard, and is therefore many times better than Ronaldo.

and rafinha's attitude too regarding the olympics
smthn - something.
i dont want another hard worker  :D

B) Smth = Something .

C) We don't need heskey now , he was vital when we had owen to hold the ball up for him , or be used as a target man . We've got torres and keane , both can create for themselves

The England international made his name after coming through the ranks at Anfield, and scored 118 league goals for the club before leaving for Real Madrid.

A move to Newcastle United followed after just one season in Spain, but he has spent much of the time since on the treatment table and his current deal expires in the summer.

Due to the turmoil currently engulfing the St James Park club Owen is expected to leave, and reports suggest Rafael Benitez will make a £4million offer for the 28-year-old in January.

I would love it if we got Michael back.  He might teach this team a thing or two about finishing chances.

This must be the only way to justify having a Physio and Club Doctor on the payroll with Kewell having gone.

The credit crunch really is biting at Melwood!!!   :wwww

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been sounding out the possibility of adding a fourth Brazilian to his first team squad in the shape of Sao Paulo defender Aislan.

The 20-year-old centre back emerged as arguably the most highly-rated of Sao Paolo’s recent crop of “Juniores”, and he already carries a release clause of $20,000,000 (£10.5 million).

Benitez has previously delved into the Brazilian market for Diego Cavalieri and Lucas Leiva, while Fabio Aurelio arrived from La Liga.

Aislan’s agent Paolino Oscar revealed contact was made by Liverpool, but the move was scuppered by the close of the summer transfer window.

"They had revealed interest in the past one or two months, when the window was open,” Oscar told UOL Esporte.

“Now, I find that it was more difficult because everything is closed in Europe."

Liverpool’s initial attempts were held up by the complicated nature of the transfer, which requires 30 percent of the fee to be paid to Aislan’s former club.

The towering defender’s agent admits Aislan would like to play in Europe, but he will not hand in a transfer request if Sao Paulo choose not to sell.

"It is in Sao Paulo’s hands and it is they who decide. If Aislan is told to leave, very well. If not, that is good also.

“I have respect for Sao Paulo and I do not do blackmail, therefore it is the club who must make the primary move."

gone around on the internet and came up with something for all to read.

1) Newcastle striker Michael Owen is a target for Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton. The 28-year-old's contract expires in the summer and is free to talk to clubs in the new year and he would be available for a knockdown £4m in the January transfer window

2) Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill wants to sign Wigan striker Emile Heskey for £3m but faces competition from the forward's former club Liverpool

3) Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is reportedly considering a January swoop for Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon, with the England international also said to be attracting attention from Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
21-year-old Lennon has been at White Hart Lane since joining from Leeds United in 2005 but, despite making a promising start to his career at the north London side, which forced him into the England squad, Lennon has not pushed on to become the star many thought he would at Spurs.
With the arrival of David Bentley from Blackburn Rovers, Lennon looks set to only play a bit-part under Juande Ramos in the Premier League season and could be open to a move in the January transfer window.
Should Benitez decide to follow up on this reported interest in Lennon then it is believed that it would cost the Reds in the region of £8million to reunite the winger with former team-mate Robbie Keane, who left Spurs for Anfield earlier this summer.

4) Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is reported to be eager to land Tottenham Hotspur’s highly-rated Wales left back Gareth Bale in January - for £15 million.
The Anfield side are looking to add depth to their squad in mid-season and are likely to go player-shopping inthe new year. They have a number of players on their radar and the versatile Bale has recently appeared on their wish list.
After being linked with a move to sign Aaron Lennon in the summer, it seems Liverpool are planning to paint Spurs red in January!

5) hamburg ease the tention on newkit by bidding 14mil for kuyt.
