. I just hope Romania manage to sneak a win against the dutch (seeing as they are already through), as I'm getting more and more annoyed at looking at the whinging italians.

He lost it before the tournament even started!
He chose Anelka who had a terrible season over Trezeguet who had a great one and scored loads.Total idiot of a manager and will be sacked barring a miracle,if they go out tonight!

According to Manhattan's sources, Dommenech will resign on Wednesday, then on Thursday he will find romance with a new love.

damn i think italy will go to the next round. holland is playing way better then romania. so i hope holland will score 2 own goals. :cool:

Havent seen anything of the italian league last season so dont know about Trezeguet, but i would always take Anelka. It was the decision to play Malouda at all (he is awful) and the one against Holland and Romania to bring on Gomis who reminded me in playing style a bit of Adi Akinbiyi ahead of Anelka and Benzema against the dutch was crazy as well.
Even the decision to send Flamini home and gamble on an ageing Vieiras fitness looked a really bad call.
Italy didnt look great tonight but did what they often do and got the win that takes them through to the knockout stages, like the germans they are always there or thereabouts and Spain and Portugal wont be underestimating them.
By the way how bad was Toni again ?
As bad as Gomez for Germany last night, havent Italy got any other strikers to shake it up a bit ? He looks so slow and lazy.

I dunno mate!Anelka did'nt have agreat season.I know he never started all the time but i think he only scored 1 or 2 and his form was well below par!
Trezeguet hit 20 in 36 appearances in the League for Juve.
It just does'nt make sense to me.Firepower upfront was a major problem to them and Trezeguet would have been more of a threat than Anelka.

I cant remember exactly why but Trezeguet is VERY unpopular in France for some reason,maybe this had something to do with it!
Either way their manager is a tw@t and will be gone!

Domenech has certainly made more than a few shocking decisions regarding his selections (both before and during the tournament), as you mention. And you've even forgotten the fact, that he has taken Boumsong and left out a player like Mexes whilst also omitting Sagna (who imo had an excellent first season in the PL). No wonder they're out of it already. Boumsong ffs

I just hope Spain are able to see off the italians. It'll be quite a tight affair I believe, as we all know Spain have a tendency to underperform in these types of games, whereas the italians have a knack for getting the results needed (see tonight for example). But at least they'll be without both Pirlo and Gattuso, and I do fancy Nando and Villa to perform better against their defence than the french did tonight. Should be an interesting game.

I dont think Toni was as bad as you think Ace, he did well, very very unlucky not to score. His movment and touch was fantastic tonight and always was trouble for the defence, he got the penalty.

De Rossi bossed the midfield today, excellent player.

France were cr@p, Domenich is an idiot, he should have started Benzema long before, he was excellent today, the only french player who was dangerous.
