He deserves to be nominated, with that acting in the movie absolutely quality

from what ive heard its actually christian bale who stars as its a more complex character, ledger is just abit wacky and is getting all the plaudits for the easier acting... but will tell you when i finally see it

I didn't think so. As for all the "oscar" talk, would have thought by now we'd got used to how much hype hollywood in particular and yanks in general attach to anything they're involved in. Christian Bale, fine actor but in this role displays all the depth of an MFI wardrobe. Heath Ledger ?, a good performance , nothing more.

i thought it was an epic movie personally...the theme of fear of the fearful was superb and very relevant with today’s political climate….top top film in my view and i loved the way the film kept you 2nd guessing all the way through.

It depends if you are into Batman movies though!

I've watched bits and it seems OK..will watch it all soon but i dont think its the type of movie i'll get too excited about..all been done before sort of thing.
Its fair to say if Heath Ledger never died people would'nt be w@nking as much over his performance either...sounds horrible saying that but i think its true!

As for Christian Bale..his performance in batman is no where near as good as what he done in Rescue Dawn from what i've seen.If anyone likes POW movies its a great show..Bale lost what looked like half his bodyweight just to make himself convincing in the role!
Great actor though imo!

Watched Smart people last night , most boring 90 minutes of my life , its a below average show and its very slow moving , draggy after a bit and a very dumb storyline , totally regretted wasting my time downloading it and watching it

I watched it a while ago mate and I thought it was very long and drawn out. Good acting, but not enough happening for me anyway.

S@int, agree it was a bit long-drawn out.

The acting was very convincing though - worth watching

Just got back from seeing X-files. As big fan of old show it was great to see them back on the screen and im glad it wasnt the convuluted conspriacy story. However by end I was thinking to myself I had been watching average FBI standard thriller. A few visions from Billy doesnt really count as being paranormal for me. Good enough effort but wait for the video or a download

I saw the Darknight yesterday at the cinema. It was a good movie nothing more cant see what all the fuss is about tbph, I did like the different plots in it though and Heath Ledgers acting was very good in it.

I heard that alot of people want him awarded with an oscar for that, (I dont know if its world wide) but all the Aussies are saying he should be nominated or what have you. I thought to myself, 'typical Aussies just aclaiming him for an oscar because hes brown bread' But after actually watching it, hes definately worthy of a nomination at least.

X-Files and Bond next.

I reckon both will be better than Batman

Chistian Bale is a very good actor, playing Batman IMO doesnt suite him.

He was good in Rescue Dawn, and even better in the Machineist.

Yeah im looking forward to the new bond movie, i think wait for Dark Knight for TV screen. I just think the batman franchise has been flogged to death though I did enjoy first Bale effort. When I saw the X-files movie today, they had previews for a movie with Liam Neeson called Taken which looked alright
