Liverpool To Enter Eto'o Frame
Samuel Eto'o could make a surprise move to Liverpool if the Premier League club fail in their bid to prise Robbie Keane away from Tottenham Hotspur. The Cameroonian striker is being offered to Europe's major clubs and many have already previously made contact to ask about his annual salary and transfer fee.

While all those enquiries have failed to lead to a single concrete offer, Barça are determined to sell Eto'o this summer and may lower their demands in the coming weeks.

That would allow Liverpool to make their move and Rafa Benítez believes that the powerful 27-year-old could form an incredible partnership alongside Fernando Torres.

Finances at Anfield may be tight, but following the sale of Peter Crouch to Portsmouth, there maybe some room for negotiation with the Catalan giants.

Manager Rafa Benítez is said to want Keane, but Tottenham will not let their captain go cheaply and his asking price could even rise above the amount Barça are requesting for their striker.

Eto'o has flown back to Barcelona after a promotional trip to Uzbekistan and is due to return to pre-season training with the Blaugrana on Saturday.

Talks are set to be held between the player, his agent, José María Mesalles, and Barcelona and they are predicted to not be easy as the striker has done nothing himself to push for an exit.

Liverpool would be a destination that could attract Eto'o, however, and the promise of Champions League football is the key thing in his list of priorities of any would-be suitor.

Pep Guardiola has stated that if no deal can be done and the goalscorer remains then he will have no problems incorporating him into his squad for the new season.

Barcelona's board have said on various occasions that they want to off-load the forward, who joined the club four years ago from Real Mallorca, and buy a replacement.

From Skysport's Paper Talk session:

Reds to sell striker to raise funds - Daily Mirror
Liverpool are willing to sacrafice Andrei Voronin by selling the forward to help raise funds for the signing of Gareth Barry from Aston Villa. Should Liverpool sell Voronin?

----------------------------------------------------------------
Surely not! Why would we sell one of our most prolific players (hairwise), if we are being serious about challenging for the title ??? . The only reasonable thing I can see about this rumour is, that the sale of the Voronator would give us enough money to finally buy BOTH Barry and Keane. I would still prefer to keep him though, as I just could not bare to watch him unfold his wicked talent for anyone else but the mighty reds.

On the Etoo rumour:

It's source is SPORT. And it's bóllocks. Etoo is unsettled there and they want to sell him. Basically what sport says in this article is just speculation: If Torres leaves to Chelsea, they say, Etoo will probably go to Liverpool.

They base all the speculation in our supposed financial troubles that will lead us to sell Torres.

I wouldn't mind to have Etoo, but not at the expense of losing Torres!"

I would prefer Eto'o, even though I don't think he would be as good a "fit" for Torres as Keane would be. He would take away the options and leave us with a top class 4-4-2 formation. He can also work the channels much better than Keane and is a top class finisher.

kean has prem experiance though and fluently speaks the language.

Do you want to know what happens when we play 4,4,2? Just think back to the Arsenal champions leahue game at Anfield and remember the first 30mins/half. We got creamed so playing eto wouldnt be ideal whereas playing kean off the srtiker is 1. His natural position and 2. We can defend better and link well with Torres.

+I would like to see us sign a english speaking brit. ok i know he's not british but its ireland for gods sake, their as good as british but i would rather get him than some african guy who i cant relate to and doesnt speak the lingo.

Nah Eto'o is a class act , but a moany little sod ... was watching the telly a couple of weeks ago and they were live in the cameroon training camp and they sad Eto'o refused to go training but the manager said he wont be dropped from the team because he's good ..

Well i'm afraid i dnt like players like that , who think that their too good to train and still to be picked is crazy  !!

Keane has a great attitude , pity he dont do it on the international level but he's a proven PL player a tad old and i havent a clue how much Spurs want for him

No one is talking about international football!
He has averaged 1 in two from the start of his career...22 goals in 27 in 06/07 and 23 in 07/08 in 36..8 appearances from the bench!

He can play in England
Hes great
Hes a lifelong fan of LFC
He works his balls off
He wants to play for us
He wants to better his career
He is versatile
He is skillfull
He has a great attitude
Rafa sees him as great for us
So do I
We want him
He wants LFC
If he was coming from AC Milan or Madrid and had this record you would all be salivating and beating the middle organs right off yourselves.
Great signing if it happens, our gain and Spurs loss!
Great player and a player we need!
Yes! :nod

I completely agree with that. Btw I wouldn't like Eto'o at Liverpool. Don't get me wrong, he's a great finisher and a top-striker, but his attitude is really not what we need. We're probably never going to get players with the same passion for their club as Gerrard or Carragher, but Eto'o is the complete opposite, attitude-wise. I mean, when he left Real Madrid for Barça, he insulted Real and called himself 'The Champion'  :Oo:
