Can't say I rate Keane that highly, but I think he is one of the few forwards that could not only work well WITH Torres but could also take on the role of lone striker when asked, he could also play wide in the 4-2-3-1. I think if we could get him for around £12 million or Crouch + a couple of million, it might be a good deal.

I remember you saying that you didnt really rate him S@int, but if Rafa landed Keane that would be a good transfer for us. I think he is a good little player, that can play inbetween the lines and would provide a great foil for Torres to work off. He'd be that creative player you've been wanting, plus he knows where the net is. I'd be happy with that. :)

I've read that hunteelar has rejected a new contract offer as it has a 20 million release clause in it and this has alerted some of the big clubs like manure , arsenal and liverpool . 70 goals in 88 games

RAFA WANTS ROBBIE

By CHRIS BASCOMBE

LIVERPOOL want Robbie Keane to wear their famous No 7 shirt next season.

Kop boss Rafa Benitez plans a £20million player-plus-cash offer involving wantaway striker Peter Crouch.

But Tottenham have resisted the first tentative Anfield approach for striker Keane.

Spurs told the Reds they would be wasting their time making a formal bid for the Irish ace.

That will not dissuade Benitez, who has decided a forward line of Keane and Fernando Torres is the key to an improved domestic campaign.

Benitez is prepared to restructure his tactical plans to accommodate Keane by pushing Steven Gerrard back into his favoured central midfield role.

Keane’s loyalty to Spurs will be tested now Benitez’s interest is public.

The 27-year-old, who has been at White Hart Lane since 2002, is settled in North London.
Heroes

But he will be tempted at the prospect of Champions League football and the honour of taking the jersey of one of his boyhood heroes, Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool are the only English club which can tug so strongly at the ex-Leeds man’s heartstrings as he is known to be a supporter.

Despite an excellent relationship with the Spurs hierarchy, the possibility of a takeover will also be playing on his mind.

England hitman Crouch, 27, may prove key to a deal but he is also a target for Portsmouth, Newcastle and Manchester City.

Pompey had a £9m bid rejected earlier this week, while Toon hope the lure of playing alongside Michael Owen will give them an edge.

If former Spurs trainee Crouch does not fancy a move to his old club, Liverpool will look to buy Keane outright.

Personally i think Keane is a great player and would fit right in alongside Torres.
He has a very clever footballing brain, great movement and scores a decent amount of goals.
I dont think Spurs would let him go, but if we could sign him it would significantly improve our attacking ability.

I would love Keane to come and play alongside Nando. Houllier tried to buy him a couple of years ago and I think he is a top player who would work hard for the team and would link up play well.

Please God make this happen

Lets wait and see

Harry Kewell could sign for Portsmouth, boss Harry Redknapp wanting to team him up with another target, Liverpool's Peter Crouch

I have been saying for years that Robbie Keane would be a good signing.  It seems after improving his strike rate last season that a lot more people agree.  If we can get rid of Crouch as part of the deal then even better.

Keane has already turned down the chance to join us twice Nanny, maybe third time lucky. Problem with him is he doesn't play well with a partner, maybe that could work though as supposedly Torres can't play with a partner either.

My gut feeling is that we won't get him s@int.  He has been at Spurs a while now, seems settled and is club captain.  He's also just come off the back of his best season with them and Spurs have got themselves a good manager who has made some exciting signings for next season already.  I think we have less chance of getting him now than we would have done in any other close season.  We have to hope that for whatever reason Ramos doesn't fancy him - it's the only way I can see him leaving.

He seemed to do pretty well with Berbatov last season mate.

The two goals he scored at anfield (although poor defending) where both scored after flick ons from Berbatov.

Keane has 10 assists in 3 seasons - Berbatov has 18 assists in 2 seasons, while scoring more goals too!

Robbie Keane has played 197 games for Spurs scoring 98 times

Goal Ratio = 2.01

Dimitar Berbatov has played 69 games for Spurs scoring 34 times

Goal Ratio = 2.02

Very close in fairness, it shows Robbie gets his fair share of goals
