How much did Barcelona sign Henry for ?

Hypothetically speaking :D would he make a good partner for Torres and does he have the work rate Raffa seems to like his players to have. I don't watch much Spanish football so I don't know if he is the same player as he was, obviously age is catching up on him, the last I heard was that he was being played out of position ( back on the wing ) at Barcelona. If he his anything like he was when he was at Arsenal then that would make a pretty awesome strike force and he has made no secret about the fact he likes Liverpool

I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to play at Anfield, he's always said how much he'd like to be a red, he's mates with Gerrard and would be able to see his daughter, I'd be well happy if we could pick him up for the right price :)

I think Spurs, City and the Barcodes would out bid us - they are more desparate.

that just shows the lack of urgency on our side if those teams outbid us.

At that money (16 million) I'd go in for him if it was me (I'm talking about Henri). An absolutely fantastic player at his best, one of the very best to have played the game on these shores and if he's only thirty then it's only motivation and will which is preventing him reaching the hieghts he has previously.

The problem with these players like Robben, Henry and the like is that since he were rotated minimally in their former clubs, they're all carrying chronical injuries at this stage of their careers. (The rotation thing is a speculation joke, but I'm serious about the problems they're having).

Other than that, Henri is a superb striker. I would love to have him here.

I was joking about the rotation thing, I'm not a doctor and I've got not a clue about the reason of this injuries, just a little joke.

I'm just trying to translate you the bit of information about their medical status this season. Robben has had a lot of problems this season. So has Van Nystelrooy, and so has Henri. Some of those injuries are chronical, I can go to the articles and try to translate that medical stuff (I'd need a proper dic for that). I just was giving that info, as it's important factor to consider should we want to sign them up.

Not always that a player is having injury problems it means it will be recurrent -- Woodgate --  but it's good to know these things, IMHO.

Keegan chasing £5m Norwegian

View Gallery
Kevin Keegan is set to raid his old club to bring Liverpool defender John Arne Riise to Newcastle.
Riise - worth £5m - was hoping for a new deal at Liverpool as his current terms run out in 2009.

But Rafa Benitez has shown no intention of opening negotiations leading the out-of-favour left-back to look elsewhere.

The Geordies have already made contact with Riise's representatives with a view to a summer move and Liverpool won't stand in his way, according to the News of the World.

Riise has found himself on the receiving end of Benitez's rotation policy throughout the season, with Fabio Aurelio now the preferred option at full-back.

Liverpool FC rumourmill: Behrami, Modric and Cattermole to Liverpool?

Apr 11 2008

Valon Behrami is being linked with a move to the Premier League.

The Swiss international midfielder has enjoyed an impressive season in Serie A but Lazio would be unable to turn down a big money deal.

Liverpool are one of the clubs he is being linked with, according to web reports.

* * *

Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Luka Modric has made a ‘come and get me’ plea to Liverpool.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal have been credited with serious interest in the Croatia international this week, but it is Liverpool he pines for.

Modric told Vecernji list: “I don’t wish to discuss possible transfers, but if Liverpool really want me, then this is fantastic and I am truly honoured.

“I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match against strong Arsenal.”

On loan Liverpool winger Paul Anderson has admitted that he would love to stay at the Liberty Stadium next season for a push on what looks set to be Championship football.

Anderson has been on a season long loan at Swansea and now wants to potentially see this extended although he will sit down with Liverpool to discuss his options at the season end.

Speaking in today's Evening Post the winger said "I honestly don't know at the moment what the future holds for me,

"I assume at the end of the season I'll go back to Liverpool, sit down with them, my agent and my dad and have a chat about what they think I've done this season.

"I haven't spoken with Liverpool that much while I've been here so I'll go back and see what they want from me.

"I think they have been at most of my games and hopefully they are pleased with what they've seen.

"I've had a bit of feedback from Gary Ablett, the reserve-team manager, who says I've done well and says there's no reason why I can't go back and push for a first-team place.

"But personally I can't see myself breaking into the Liverpool first team next season."

And finally, Lee Cattermole of Middlesborough is again being linked with a move to Anfield in the summer.

The fee currently being talked about is £3million.

Liverpool plan to lure £12million Lahm
07:59 April, 11, 2008
Liverpool Football Club have been linked with Philipp Lahm.

The one that i wanna see the most at LFC

Rafael Benitez is on the lookout for a world class left fullback in the summer transfer window, as he looks to finally end the Anfield club’s eighteen year wait for the league title.

The Spaniard came close to landing Gabriel Heinze last summer but with the Argentine moving to Real Madrid, he has now turned his attentions to German international Lahm.

Rated by some as the best fullback in Europe, the former Stuttgart defender has just one season remaining on his deal at the Allianz Arena, and Benitez hopes to tempt Bayern with an offer of £12million.
