I have to disagree.

I am a fan of Bentley, he plays in a similar style to your Dutch wingers imo but with an English attitude. He would fit into our current right side no problem and would be excellent I think.

And he definatly has the attitude to go far.

Did anyone else hear Talksport reporting that we are about to go into a £10m bidding war with Newcastle for Aaron Lennon? Thoughts on this guy? I think he's a decent player but I'd rate Bentley as better than Lennon.

I heard the Lennon rumour to, I use to rate him as a player but the more I have watched him I just see a quicker version of Pennant. Pace to burn but no end product from what I have seen

£12m Superstar OUT, £20m man IN Rafa starts the latest Liverpool red-olution

April 1, 2008

Many have complained, incorrectly in my opinion that Rafa just doesn’t spend wisely. Well I think those people should consider the capture of Fernando Torres as evidence to the contrary. This latest bit of news however could trump that signing and it could be a signing that takes Liverpool out of the top four race and into a genuine title chase!

It has been reported that Liverpool’s Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso will be moving back to his homeland with Barcelona likely to be his future employers after a £12million move.
He is apparently to be replaced by AC Milan’s Andrea Pirlo for a fee in the region of £20m (various)

Xabi Alonso is a class player but it does seem he has been off the boil this season, although much improved in recent weeks. Maybe Andrea Pirlo would be a better bet. Clearly one of the best set-piece takers on the planet and he has the ability to pull out raking passes at will. I am a fan of Pirlo and given Milan’s slump in fortunes it would appear that he could well leave the San Siro would Anfield supporters welcome the move?

Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle fight over £6m ‘one-time superstar’!

April 1, 2008

It seems that Bernd Schuster is looking to ring the changes at the Bernabeu even though his side is comfortably leading La Liga he is not too happy about once again failing in the pursuit of Champions League glory. Hence Javier Saviola appearing to be on the market.

Real Madrid Ramon Calderon and wants to offload at least eight players in the summer to clear the books and raise funds for new arrivals and near the top of that list is Argentinean striker Javier Saviola who is apparently on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Spurs, Newcastle and Middlesbrough (DiarioSport)

The 26 year old former Barcelona man had only arrived at Real last summer and his career has continued to stagnate in Spain and it appears the one time soon to be superstar is in desperate need of a career and a move to England is on the cards. At that valuation he would be well worth taking a chance on.

Think the Pirlo rumour is :censored: to be honest. Dont think he is in the Rafa mould as a player. No guarantees he'd do well in the EPL and isn't he about 30 years old...a lot of money for a 30 year old...if the rumour is true which I don't think it is.

Saviola playing with Torres in a 4-4-2 (not sure if Rafa will ever play this formation again with the current one working well) would be an interesting option. At £6m he wouldn't present a huge risk!!
