I'd personally like to have Lahm here instead of Rafinha, but he'd still be a great buy.

But do we need another midfielder in Ivan Rakitic?

Yeah, if Alonso leaves in the summer.

why they want rid

I know it has been mentioned about Ronaldhinio leaving Barcelona for 10 Million I just thought I would shed some light on why they want rid  . Apparently he has been dating Frank Riikards daughter and having numerous other women in his room the night before a match :D Hes got to be a target for Man U on that form, he would love one of Rios and Ronaldos parties.

Seriously though it was on the radio today, they spoke to their Spanish football expert and he said its all over the papers there, hopefully Sabre should be able to tell us more and how reliable it is

I don't think we have been linked with him so hypothetically speaking I wouldnt say he is over the hill, he may not be as dynamic as he once was but I would love to see him on the right of our midfield, imagine him in the games where we are struggling to get through a stubborn deffence, one moment of magic from him to slip in Gerrard or Torres could make all the difference. Even as a second striker behind Torres would work, and then we have his free kicks  :nod.

Sadly I really cant see him coming to the Premiership  not even for 10 Million

David Bentley has recently been asked about a move away from Ewood park, Liverpool being the most likely destination.
Here is an article with quotes everyone woooo

The article (with actual quotes)

Personally think he is the type of player we need to be signing, young and very talented and has consistantly played very well for Blackburn Rovers and I think he needs to make the step up.

I pray to God that we don't get Bentley.  How the hell would he work in our system?  One of his strongest abilities is crossing but we never have anyone in the box.  What we need on the right is an inteligent player with pace and skill.  If we get him then we have to change our system or he'll become just another Pennant.

i kinda agree at a certain point ruskiy esp. about the above statement. We play with lots of crosses into the box, but it seems nobody there to receive it or the opposition defence managed to intercept it , everytime.  :suspect:

Any rumour coming from Barcelona is meaningless. It's pretty sure that Rijkaard won't be there next season. As soon as we know the new manager, it will be relevant the transfer rumours, because these things depend on the new manager's wish list.

I would take Pirlo, simply because we don't have anyone at the club who is a set piece expert.

However, on general principle I don't want us to buy another holding midfielder if Alonso goes.  Mascherano and Lucas can already do that job, and another central midfielder who can get forward and chip in with a few goals would be preferable.  Pirlo would make up for this with the goals he would create and score from dead ball situations.  It will not happen though, Milan need to rebuild and ageing side and selling one of their best players who is the right side of 30 will not be on the agenda.

The Bentley rumour is also mentioned in this BBC piece...

Bentley hints at Blackburn exit

Bentley wants a regular England starting place

David Bentley says he has not ruled out leaving Blackburn to further his goal of becoming an England regular.

The 23-year-old is in talks with Rovers over a new contract but admits he wants to play regular European football in order to gain England recognition.

Rovers are still in the hunt for a Uefa Cup spot, but Bentley said: "Time will tell over the next few months what will happen. It's a big decision in my life.

"You never know in football. Sometimes you have to make strong decisions."

Bentley has shown in the past he is willing to take difficult decisions, handing in a transfer request at Arsenal in 2005 in pursuit of first-team football.

He also caused controversy by making himself unavailable for England Under-21s last year, citing tiredness and his desire to extend his international career in the long term.

I want to go to the World Cup in two years and I want to be starting

Blackburn's David Bentley

Blackburn are seven points behind fifth-placed Everton in the race for a guaranteed Uefa Cup spot.

Asked if Blackburn missing out on Europe would precipitate a move, Bentley - who has been linked with Liverpool - added: "I won't answer that. I'll leave it up to you to decide.

"I want to play European football, I want to play at the top of my game. I want to go to the World Cup in two years and I want to be starting."

Bentley must force his way ahead of David Beckham, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Aaron Lennon if he is to become a regular on England's right flank.

But he said: "I'm in the early stages of my England career. I'm going to have to work hard, it's up to me to take the position.

When was the last time Rovers sold a player for him to go on and be truly successful with another club?

"There's a lot of good players in this country, but if I perform then I believe I can take it, so we'll have to see."

Bentley came off the bench to replace David Beckham for the last half-hour of a drab 1-0 defeat in Paris but said he did not particularly enjoy the experience.

"It was a strange game. It wasn't very enjoyable. It wasn't the best of games watching from the bench," he said.

"It's the stage of the season we're at. I don't think there should be a game like that anyway.

"I think it was a difficult situation. A lot of the lads are preparing themselves for the Premier League and the Champions League so it can be difficult to play a game like that for both sides.

"It was a half-hearted, 50% effort. Everyone wants to play well for England but sometimes it just happens like that.

"It wasn't enjoyable for me but you try to have an effect on the game, you go out there and try to have an effect but it is difficult to get into a game like that."

Nothing like putting yourself in the shop window Mr Bentley.

There is no way that this guy is one of the "3 we've already signed" as he would have blwon the trumpet on the move well before now. The guy can't keep his mouth shut...

Not a bad player though who'd fit well in the current formation in Dirk's place.
