Pennant has as many goals against the other top sides as Ronaldo.
Err, not quite. The real numbers are:
22 goals in the Prem from 145 shots (total, not per game). Three of those goals came from penalties.
Pennant, sadly, is not fit to lace Ronaldo's boots (and you know it).
bob go look at the amount of shots that don't make the goal because they're blocked, then that would be total and 11 penalities this season.
Where are you getting 11 penalties from? He's scored from 3 in the Prem--4 in all competitions (out of 33 goals, it's worth mentioning). Shots are neither here nor there. On present pace, Pennant will be 56 before he equals the number of goals Ronaldo has scored this season alone!

Bad Bob wrote:Back to Nando--whether he manages to overhaul Ronaldo for the Golden Boot or not (and Adebayor's still in the mix as well), it's still a fantastic achievement for someone in his first season in the league. I'll be well pleased if he eclipses Van Nistleroy's debut season record.

Secondly it's 11 penalities or at least it was when he scored the pen against Spurs in the FA Cup.
Thirdly, he's a greedywho can't pass because he has to always shoot.
Fourthly if he scores a free kick we hear about it for 4 months.
Overall he bottles it against big teams, because other than his one goal you don't even see him involved in the game. Take away set pieces he'd have about 7 goals a season. Take away goals against sides in the bottom half of the table he'd have about 3 goals a season and take away goals against sides in the bottom three he'd have about 1 goal a season. He's an overrated, cheating Portguesewho wouldn't touch the ball if players were allowed to tackle.

I brought Pennant up because not too long ago you were trying to convince everyone that Pennant was better than Ronaldo. Seeing as you brought him up for comparison again, I thought I'd run with it.
I won't bother refuting your points because they are all clearly just bollox.* What I will do is point out two significant flaws associated with going down this road:
1) If Ronaldo has a big game against us on Sunday you'll look like a right t!t (well, more so)
2) Would you play the "take away all the goals that..." game with our own Torres or Stevie? Would you f.uck and nor should you. Great players score lots of goals in lots of ways against lots of teams. Sitting there and discrediting this set of goals and that set of goals is moronic.
*I'd love to hear your source on 11 penalties though. Mine's from Soccernet. Where'd you get yours from?

Pennant is better and you know my reasons why (even if a "little" biased)
You won't see Ronaldo on Sunday and I guarentee it. Come sunday night you can quote this if you like, but it won't bother me because I know I'm right.
So Danny Murphy was a great player because he made double figures in goals through pens and free kicks? OK that's cleared up and if I was to do it with Torres he'd still have 20+ goals from open play.
And I got the 11 pens from BBC's JOHN MOTSON. (who is another pundit who doesn't particuarlly like us and loves to see us lose)

I wouldn't really call Ronaldo a winger, he's more like attacking forward.
