Rafa was so successful at Valencia because it was his country and his culture. He could communicate very well with his players. But England is very different and I think that one of the main problems is Gerrard. He has really damaged Rafa's plans in terms of building a team and their relationship has not been good either. I feel that if we want to move forward as a team one of them needs to go.

If Benitez had the biggest spending budget in this league he would still rotate his team away from top spot.

If he did bring in some star names you wonder how often he would actually send them out to play where we get to benefit and enjoy them.

The man has dug his heels in so far with his methods that he will put himself out of work and its all of his own making. Only he has the power to pick the team and adjust the way we approach games and if it aint working surely you must be flexible. If he wont change then we have to find another manager who can switch it and get us playing again.

Mine was just blind optimism and faith ace,it's pretty hard argueing the case for rafa at the minute ,there's no doubting that . All i can say is i think the mans got what it takes to win the league with Liverpool . All i can base it on is ,his credentials in spain and in the champions league . He obviously knows how to win competitions , he knows how to win big games . So lets say he's in charge still next season ,(big if we know) and he gets the players he wants at whatever cost ,he also gets an assistant . He also has the backing of the board and lets not forget Mr Gerrard and mr crouch would have the summer off. Then i'm prepared to give him one more shot at the league . With all that in place i think he can do it. :;):

Also saint ,just to add ,with the list you've got why we say rafa hasn't won the league , tell me what manager could and would have and still can do next season . He'd have to be a bl00dy miracle worker.

Not aloud to compete money wise , not given as long as wenger and fergie and injuries to your better players . Who would do a better job?

Gerrard digs us out of trouble time after time and rafa destroys our chances of challenging by rotating formation and players until our team looks like a bunch of strangers just put together for the first time ever

I think if it came down to the last 4 or 5 games of the season and we were in front or level on points at the top, I would back Rafa to win it. I just wonder if we will ever get in that position under Rafa.

We could leave him charge forever in the hope his methods will reap rewards but living in the here and now its plain to see his ideas are a disaster so we call it quits and try something else.

btw... I just wanna ask this even though I can guess what the answers will be... what is this obesession with the league exactly? why does everything have to be measured against it? yeah I want us to win the league... but today's football is not just about the league... we are competing at 3 fronts; the league, CL and FA cup. 3 major trophies. The CL can even be considered more prestigious and harder to win than the league... with rafa we're constantly challenging the CL more often than other teams... does that count for nothing? what is this obesession pls tell me...

Maybe a different manager might go for creating a team rather than a squad of individuals. Maybe a different manager would get the best out of the players we have, and play the best players rather than having them warming a bench.

I don't know mate honestly, I do know what we are seeing now doesn't work, so maybe something or someone else might.

An assistant would be a step in the right direction I think, as would more consistancy.

I just look at our team and think there is so much more to offer than we are getting out of them. We are good enough to be challenging, I have no doubts about that.

If we arn't it has to be down to the manager.

Good point there Igor concerning Wenger can some one tell me what he has won since Raffa has been here ?

Is it only now they are starting to shine and how many of there fans called for him to be replaced

The only manager I could see overtaking the other guys with our budget is Hiddink. He'd work really well with a limited budget and his style of football is also good to watch. But I'd still rather see Rafa here.

An another thing i watched the ressies tonight crackin team won 1-0 Nemeth again

lobbed the keeper but i was impressed by Insua great prospect for next seasons left back position . Looking at them and the talent that Raffa has brought there i can only see good things for the future of LFC . these lads are learning the liverpool way there passing and movement was spot on , Were clear now top of the league :nod

I've watched the ressies abit this season nanny and i think there's afew who would be pushing next season if rafa gave them ago , he does seem abit reluctant to give the younger lads a crack , not just a one off game in the league cup , but a good 20 mins to 1/2 an hour for 4 or 5 games on the bounce . I firmly believe we wouldn't have to go out and buy all kinds of players next year if rafa gave some of these lads chance.

Will any of them ever get a real chance though? Hobbs must be heartbroken. Insua - we tried to get Heinze earlier in the season, we already have Arbeloa, Riise, Aurelio who can play there.

Will/can we be patient while a player gets the necessary experience in the first team, with the errors and mistakes costing us vital points? Or will we just dip into the transfer market and bring in another signing?
