18.6m for Mascherano, wow  :oh:

I think that includes his wages for 4 years as well mate

i really dont think it does mate. 4 years at £50grand a week is £10.4Million... meaning we paid £8.2m, which when you consider what alonso is worth now, and what utd paid for carrick and hargreeves, i'd imagine £18.6 to be the full whack

I hope it does include his wages because its a massive amount of money for a workhorse midfielder. He can tackle, passes the easy ball and gives 100% and thats his limit.

Personally I would have rather seen what Lucas can do in midfield and invest the Mascherano money on a goalscorer (striker/winger) in the summer but hey ho whats done is done.

Maybe the summer kitty is overflowing so no worries but I wonder if it will seem like a rash investment if the money dries up.

??? You have just described him as a Work horse midfielder then went on to explain that he has all the qualities that a work horse midfielder should have and what make him so good at it and then you say thats his limit. Am I missing something ?   :lookaround

So what if he has been signed. It's all debt at the clubs expense anyway.
