would be very good partner with Torres :)

Thought the same a while back , recently however everything I'm reading about this player is screaming trouble with a capital T . Even Bulgarian journo's are having a go at his attitude.

Remember this is the player that was refusing to come off the bench against Newcastle, when Jol told him "I'm the manager" Berbatov reponded with "Not for much longer"

No thanks.

Certainly not for the sort of price Spurs would be asking anyway. £20million plus! No thanks.

Good enough to play for our first team though? He's talking out of his erse there, becasue if he was he wouldn't be playing for FC Midtableland or whatever the feck they're called.

I saw the Kenwyn Jones story on the internet and a bit like John Craig, I wouldn't be inclined to be quite so dismissive of his abilities. He's probably in the right place right now as he's going to play every week, but it is my suspicion from first glance that Keane isn't going to be a mug when buying footballers.

The goalkeeper looks top drawer to me (although they did pay huge money) and I have absolutely no doubts whatsoever that in the next eighteen months or so they will be making a very tidy profit on the 6 million they paid for Jones.

After turning down Liverpools offer of £250k for the teenager John Cofie, the Burnley manager has been sacked. I wonder if the transfer is now back on?

Liverpool have missed out on capturing the much sought after youngster John Cofie, after the Burnley teenager opted to sign for Manchester United. The reds had been hopeful of securing his signature, and he was a guest of the club for last week’s Carling Cup tie with Cardiff City. The youngster and his family also had dinner with Jamie Carragher in his new resteraunt, as the club pulled out all the stops to persuade him to become the latest addition to the reds youth recruitment drive.

However, they failed to match the offer made by United, which is believed to have included a house as well as significantly more money than was on offer at Anfield.

There was better news on another exciting teenage starlet however, as Lauri Dalla Valle has agreed a deal to join the reds. The Finn is regarded by many as the best u16 player in Europe, and his arrival will cushion the blow of missing out on Cofie.

15 year old Crystal Palace sensation John Bostock is also in Rafa Benitez’s sights, and there is a possibility the reds will prise him away from Selhurst Park. He is already in Palace’s first team and is another kid who is wanted by all the top sides.

Looks like we have missed out on Cofie then. I have stuck it in here because I copied it from another forum and have no idea if its anything more than rumour.

Been tipped off today Rafa is looking at Vincent Kompany in January, he has been watched several times by our scouting dept over recent months and apparently is still only 21.

Don't really know much about him, apparently has done superb at Hamburg since he arrived hence Rafa's scouting missions.

Don't know anymore than that am afraid.

From Shanks legend over on Rawk. He is usually pretty good so I am confident we are at least interested.

He was a cracking player a couple of years ago, tipped to become a world class player. Injuries have taken a heavy toll on him since then though. Might be worth a gamble if the price and his fitness is right. Fast, good on the ball and very brave, maybe needs a bit more weight to be top class over here though.

The obligatory youtube video

another clip of kompany , comfortable and confident on the ball , good composure , saw some nice tackles too , he is one of the young prodigy tipped to be great and you can see why. But seriously looks more like a fullback and a winger to me.

" Simplicity is Genius " for a defender , does not applies to him thou...hehe

I recall we were supposedly looking at him a while back. I did a bit of research. He burst onto the scene a few years back at a very early age. I got the impression he went off the boil but looks like he's back on track now at Hamburg.

I'd like to see him at Anfield.

Lauri Dalla Valle

Hard to tell from the clips, but IMO, not overly impressive

Feck me what a lovely little football brain on him n'all. He'd get kicked to pieces if he played council pitches in England but looks a smashing little footballer.

Well, I'm glad he finally put one away at the end because I was wondering if there was any end product to the lad.  He does all the hard stuff, ghosting around and through 3-4 defenders in one move and when through on goal decides to play a square ball to a teammate?  WTF? :D
