Talking his bloke up and claiming that the World and his brother have been over to check up on his man is the oldest trick in the book. He's obviously got his eyes on a nice fat cut should the kid be snapped up.

Good enough to play for our first team though? He's talking out of his erse there, becasue if he was he wouldn't be playing for FC Midtableland or whatever the feck they're called.

It is indeed the same fella, great memory you have sir  :D Regarding Simon Kjaer, it is true that he went to Real Madrid a couple of months ago for some trials. They liked what they saw, but apparently wouldn't pay the amount that was asked for. It is also rumoured that Chelsea are having a closer look at him.

But as you yourself claim, he surely wouldn't be ready for our first team yet. Not even sure he's a regular at his current club tbh, as he just recently had his debut for them.

According to a today's edition of a newspaper here in Portugal a Liverpool's scout was seeing Leixões vs Braga game.
This game was the only one occurring in Matosinhos(the name of the city) and a Liverpool scout was there to see this game.

The entire new translated by google:
Liverpool and more illustrious
The Bwin League showcase is that the Europeans do not exempt strong badges to observe, the more is more to play in Matosinhos the only (for now) Portuguese representative in the UEFA Cup. Thus, attended emissaries of the English Liverpool, of the Italian Reggina, Salamanca of the Spanish and French in Saint-Etienne. On the purely national, Varzim, Leiria and the neighbor Boavista were the club that seats requested to assist departing from yesterday, in the Stadium of the Sea, which ended with a victory expressive of hosts.

I really don't know what were a Liverpool scout doing there because neither Leixões and neither Braga have class players for Liverpool.

Sorry for my english.
Regards from this portuguese Liverpool fan.

Liverpool are interested in signing Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones and could make a £12m bid for him.

6' 5" tall fairly fast and good in the air, supposedly plays similar to Drogba. Might be a decent buy at that price, would mean bye bye Crouch though.

I bet a lot of people will scoff at this, but I guarantee you that Kenwyne Jones will go on to much bigger and better things than Sunderland.  He has it all - pace, power, technique, great in the air and not a bad finisher.  Never saw that much of him at Southampton but after watching his first 90 minutes for Sunderland I transferred him right into my fantasy team convinced I'd found the bargain of the season.

He's not the finished article yet and now may be a bit soon for a transfer to a top four club, but this guy can play.  I think he's scored 3 or 4 goals for Sunderland with virtually no service, if he finishes the season with 10-12 Premiership goals he'll have done well.

It'd probably cost us the full £20m that Rafa's supposedly still got and then a bit more. If we could find a bargain CB as well to cover for Carra & Agger whilst shipping out Kuyt or Crouch (the more likely) then I'll be one happy guy.
