Everyone knows that.

There are idiots suggesting we get rid now.

Do they? I get the distinct impression there are supporters who are highly supportive of Rafa and they’d happily wait season after season without fail until Rafa gets things right.

Of course there are fans who want Rafa gone now, that’s to be expected, as good as Rafa is, he doesn’t make life easy for himself. I know a few supporters who never wanted Rafa in the first place and have refused to support him, they both wanted Martin O'Neill. There’s no pleasing some people is there?

All Liverpool supporters would consider it a failure if as you have said we are not contending for the title within the next 3 years. ALL would agree to Rafa leaving in that case.

Those that support him cannot see the point in getting rid mid-season, and would like to evaluate him at the end of the season, not base judgement on a dodgy few games.

Both of your mates might want O'Neil, well they may get their wish one day, because Villa fans are not very impressed, he is another manager in the group of Redknapp, Allardyce that are fawned over by the press because they are considered 'one of our own'.....overrated, mediocre track record.

Only six people go to the games here? It must be much more no?

As for getting rid mid season, interestingly enough, when Arsenal won their last league, they also started weakly in the CL. They got one point in the first 3 CL matches, and then they won the next 3, and the league.

So on hindsight it would have been an error to sack Wenger after those 3 CL matches. It would be an error to sack Rafa in the same situation, and quite ironical to do so for underperforming in a competition that the same critics have been overlooking when it comes to talk about Rafa's success.

Just taking the pis s, there must be at least 7?! After reading some of the inane, rediculous comments i'd be surprised if the games were even watched on the box.

Now is not the time for another 5 year plan Rafa and the players have made themselves easy targets they will just have get back to basics now.

And if we win on sunday the monday headlines will be Liverpool title contenders again.

Its very simple.

These things start to get a life of their own, winning on Sunday is very important for many reasons, especially to relieve the pressure on the team, fair enough Rafa has brought some of it upon himself, but its in adversity that we show what kind of supporters we are. I can't go Sunday, but i hope we really get behind the team, chanting their names from start to finish.

Thanks for everyone being so honest.  This is a very emotive topic.  The reason I started it was I felt there was a mood change towards Rafa on here.

Currently 81% of people want him.  i am firmly in that camp.

What we need now is people to get behind our club, which means the players and the manager, and lets hope we get a result this weekend.

I always think that Rafa is at his best when the odds are against him, no-one thought we would knowck Chelsea and Juventus out of the Europena Cup before beating Milan.  Maybe where press, pundits and fans all expected us to do something this year, this may have caused more pressure for our leader.

Well we seem to be underdogs again, come on guys, lets kick some a$$.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

The players are getting off lightly with critism I feel also, if they respect Rafa and dont want him to walk then its about time they started playing for him.

Good kick up the @rse wouldnt go a miss with quite a few of them.
Have they suddenly forgotten how to make a simple 5 yard pass?
Have they suddenly forgotten everything they have learned?
Have they suddenly forgotten how to score a bloody goal?

No.

Its about time they started remembering these things.

They would kick up a fuss if their wages wernt in the bank on time.
Better pull their fingers out their @rses before they are shipped off to another club and the only way is down once you leave Liverpool F.C.
Dont forget it.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Who do you think we are. F#cking Spurs? Not in a million years.

The man's only just managed to assemble a squad that is truly his. Of the top of my head only Gerrard, Carragher, Finnan, Hyypia, Riise and Kewell are still here from before his tenure. Only this season has he been able to compete financially with Man U and Chelsea in terms of splashing out really big on one player. All of a sudden, after a couple of poor displays in the Champions League, we're questioning his position. We've played nine League games and haven't even lost yet.

Listen, the guy has made quite a few mistakes recently in terms of selection imo. The players don't look comfortable with what they're doing as they're playing with different players every week. However getting rid of him now is just ridiculous as a new manager would want to bring in his own players and we're back to square one again.

The media has a witch-hunt against us every time we lose a couple of games. At the start of the season, United drew two and lost one of their first three league games. I t was just " a blip". we lose two games in Europe and it's "a crisis". :no

EDIT : I think it was the season before (2001/2) but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure the rest was P26 W9 D7 L10 and so we must have finished on 64 points (might be wrong, I'll love it if I'm right!)

Same season mate 2002/2003

I did a post on coincidences between that season and this season awhile back. Both seasons started with an away win at A.Villa etc.

Houllier kept his job because we won the League cup against the Mancs that season. No wonder Rafa played Torres against Reading  :D

I luckily misworded my post as I'd only briefly checked and mistakenly thought we had gone out in the League Cup to Sheff Utd and now recall we only lost one leg! I was in a foul mood so I'll let meself off.

But honestly even winning the Champions League for me isn't going to compensate another year and no league title. Rafa had a good side in 2005/6 and yet that didn't manage to make the step up and last season he changed things and again this. What has changed since 2005/6? The forward line, the wide players and the umpteenth left back plus Agger is now ahead of Sami. If Rafa can't get the wide players and forwards right then maybe he has to admit defeat in what has to be the ultimate goal

I definitely think that Rafa shuld have been toast after last season already!

I am campaigning for Guus Hiddink to take over the reigns at Anfield! He has already whipped England with a neanderthal Russia side! (Russians for peats sake)  :D

Rafa has no answer for Alex Ferguson which in itself is a reason to lynch him! Fergy has been walking all over us and under his management he does the macarena....ever seen a Scot do the macarena?

Yes I have. And it's quite a funny thing.

Guus Hiddink, the Valencia, Real Madrid, and FFS, South Korea coach?

I respect Guus Hiddink. In times where defensive football was reigning in Spain (it's cycles), he proposed an attacking and quite happy flowing football. Bit anchored in the eighties ( :D )  for my taste and with a too slow style for this league perhaps but to be honest, he was sacked with the crowd in anger as anyone else.

My point, no matter what coach you have and that includes Rafa, if you're patient, you're patient, if you're not, you'll sack the manager sooner rather than later. The example of outmost lack of patience is Madrid, and, when we see their silverware in the last 4 years, just a league doesn't seem enough, and note that they did have a lot of money and a great squad, but didn't have the patience to do the things properly.

Oh boy another guy high on RAFA spin....the guy can't hack it. Sunday brings Arsenal and pretty soon Man UTD....then we will see him make the same mistakes and offer the same excuses....GUUS HIDDINK my friend and we need him ASAP!

When we make a pinyatta out of those two clubs over the next two seasons, then the champions league and other Sh*T  is worthwhile....my case in point is the fact that we made it to the finals last year while MAN UTD crashed out early....only fellow REDS care about that, the entire world of football laughed at us cos MAN UTD whipped us and stole home the league, while we left debating old record stats and defending RAFA spin....ENUFF!

This is a serious league and serious results are required! :no

If you are so Obsessed by Man United maybe you should fuck off and support them?

Or do you already?
