Rafa is moulding a great team. why it isnt working at the moment isnt down to rafa.

i know, it all comes down to the manager, i myself have said that, but he needs help. he needs an assistant. he has formed a great team, not a good team, a great team. somethings not working but as long as rafa wants the job we need to support him.

he does need to sort out his office tho and get some help.it just seems like there is too much for him to do himself, hopefully this is the wake up he needs to get someone in.

strangely enough i actually have ore faith in him than i did this time yesterday, dunno why, but lets wait til 6pm sunday before getting the nails out and making the cross

Like Houllier, Rafa has shuffled the deck but yet to deal a really good hand. He keeps changing things but for some reason brings in a player who doesn't do any better than one he replaces. The back four almost picks itself when fit, the centre has been Gerrard and Alonso for a lot of the time so it is the strikers and wide midfield that gets changed all the time and still is below the standard of the rest of the team.

Saint - I'm not in a great mood today, colleague p1ssing me off, and feeling lazy to boot. The season we were top under Houllier (P12 W9 D3 L0) was which year? It wasn't the same year I hope as that would be a BAD omen.

EDIT : I think it was the season before (2001/2) but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure the rest was P26 W9 D7 L10 and so we must have finished on 64 points (might be wrong, I'll love it if I'm right!)

Oh fo ok, it was 2002/3 that we were top and lost to Basil. Lost to Celtic in the wafer cup too, palace in the FA Cup and Sheff Utd in the league cup. How on earth did Houllier get another season!?!?!? To be top and unbeaten a third of the way in and then to go out the league cup and FA Cup to cr ap sides, do likewise in the groups of the CL and lose to Celtic over two legs in the second chance UEFA Cup.

He finished fourth with less points the next season, and claims some credit for Rafa's CL success!

Same season mate 2002/2003

I did a post on coincidences between that season and this season awhile back. Both seasons started with an away win at A.Villa etc.

Houllier kept his job because we won the League cup against the Mancs that season. No wonder Rafa played Torres against Reading  :D

Of course he shouldnt go, dont be daft, BUT Rafa does not to take a reality check and realise his strategy isnt producing the desired results and that the fans and pundits seem to be the only ones who realise it.  He has to have the courage to say "I was wrong".

Fergie hit rock bottom before 15 years of sustained success so.......   Ready when you are, Bob.

I am sure Rafa got the job as they were looking for someone that could win the Prem in 3 years.

Wow where can I get the drugs you are on mate???

They must be powerful, more happy with a Rafa who waits until the 80th minute before bringing on Crouch, yes he is a genius, it is clear to see. At what point will you stop backing him, when we get relegated perhaps. I cannot fathom how blinkered and unambitious some of you guys are, I want to win everything and with rafa that will never happen, he just isn't a good enough manager to win the league, if the TEAM as a whole isn't performing then that is 100% the managers fault, how can you argue that point??

Rafa will be gone by Xmas, mark my words

Marked. Do you want to bet something? I'll give you 20 pounds if he is sacked, you give me 10, if he's not.

based on what? we need far more than a kick in the balls, we are a mess, the players are clueless and have been for quite a while. The football we have been playing is negative and horrible to watch and the simple pass and move game is a thing of the past, this isnt a question of being loyal it is a question of where this club is going, not based on the Besiktas game or the Marseille game but how this club plays the game, we dont ever impose our game on teams we are too scared to let players play and are too interested in negative tactics based on fear of whatever opposition we play. Rafa needs to look at the bigger picture, look at his failings as a coach and let his players take risks and play attractive attacking football, I am sick of workmanlike performances from the likes of kuyt, sissoko etc, I was brought u watching flowing football from the likes of Dalglish, barnes, bearsley, rush, molby, etc not this negative dross served up to to us week in week out by a man obsessed with trying to out-tactic the opposing manager......

An FA Cup, First European Cup in 21 years and another final last year not neough for you then?

Gone by Xmas - can't see it, but if you are so convinced then it must be true.

Admit Rafa has got it wrong on many occasions in the league, but we are still undefeated and If we beat Arsenal Sunday 3 points off top spot. 2005/06 was our best league performance in years under guess who Rafa.

Im not giving up on him yet, he's a qulaity manager and NO ONE can deny that. The end of the season will be time to assess where we are, we're hardly in a crisis yet are we!? Who knows getting knocked out of Europe may be a blessing in disguise?

Total cr*p.  Rafa won La Liga.  Rafa can, and will bring us the league.  We are missing Alonso, and we are missing Agger.  Kuyt and Crouch aren't good enough to be 2nd and 3rd choice strikers.  Voronin is good enough to be 4th choice, which is why I think he was signed.  I don't need to say anything about Torres.

The only positions I'm not happy with at the moment are up front, alongside Torres.  Kuyt simply isn't good enough, he doesn't :censored: score!
