Yes that’s very true, but I gather from the word lecture, this person is either in college or university education, therefore he is likely to be considered a ‘young adult’. Young Adults are treated differently to younger students, lesson are more informal. Therefore teachers feel more relaxed and will air their views on certain subjects.
People will say things that another will deem, hurtful, abusive or damn right crude, but this is the part of the parcel of life.
If this poster was in the work place and he/she went complaining every time someone said something they deemed offensive, the likelihood of this poster being in employment with the particular company would be severed sooner rather than later.
If I was in this situation, I would have showed the teacher up by using material to prove his opinion as factually inaccurate. I’d hit him where it hurts, the likelihood of the teacher being punished for such an opinion is not certain.
If the poster is lurking around, gather information together in a document form and hand them to him tomorrow or hand out leaflets to your class, which should anger him, but remember, you are merely expressing fact, so nothing can be done to you.
