well here my opinion:

Kuyt: Thinks he is still in Feyenoord. Back then he had to do all the hard work, back track, help the midfield and go back into the attack. He has great stamina and work ethics which make him a great asset to the team but IMO his problem is he tries to do more than he is supposed to.

Torres: I got nothing bad to say about him, he is the kind of striker we've been needing. He concentrates in scoring goals, gets into good positions, tries different things (bicycle kicks for instance) and is a genuine goal threat.

Voronin: I'm actually quite surprised with him. Has a good eye for goal, great possitional sense and can get defenses off guard which make him a real threat. Good piece of business by Rafa.

Crouch: I've stated several times, I like Crouch. He is different to any striker in the league (and Europe). Looks clumsy but has good control of the ball, complicates defenders with his size and is good holding up the ball and bringing others into play. He can also score some great goals as he proved last season. IMO the best partnership that could be formed in our current team would be Torres and him.

Babel: Calling him the next Henry might be a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good player with great potential but I dont want to place the bar too high as many did with Sissoko. Now, comparing him with Cisse is another thing. Babel is BY FAR a much better player than Cisse and will get even better. Now compare both of them. Both are strikers with great pace, are right-handed, are/were played on the wing by the manager and have a powerful shot. Now the main difference between the two is the attitude. Babel prefers playing as a striker but if the manager plays him on the wing so be it, no complaints like sissy Cisse. In Ajax he played as a left striker on a 4-3-3 formation and now Benitez plays him on the left wing, which leads to the next point. HE PLAYS ON THE LEFT. Not only does he not complain about playing on the wing but he does not complain about playing on the wrong side of the field. In fact, playing on the left has tought him how to break into opposing area and set himself up for his stronger leg.

Another thing is he is only 20 years old. He is a young, versatile player who will only get better with time. If people want to compare him with Cisse then fine, we have just gotten another Cisse, only that this one has the right attitude and does not try to rely only on his speed and powerful shot.

Is it a daft comment to say Torres is class after 7 games? Was it daft to say Alonso is class after his first 7 games?

What about Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, Hyypia... all players who after 7 games or so were fans favourates... was that daft to say they're class acts?

I'm curious as to how that wasn't daft (after you seen all their attributes) yet the same with Babel, because he's not upto it is daft...

The detatchment from reality on this website is absoloutely rediculous at times.

What has the lad shown? Please? Can anyone give me any examples of anything outstanding the lad has done? Whats he done thats impressed?

Torres has missed chances, but scored great goals, a hatrick, stood upto people kicking him off the park and took the out of them, shown pace, touch, passing, movement, intelligence, quality.

What exactly has Babel shown apart from one shot against Chelsea which went a foot wide and a decent finish against Derby?

He looked out of his depth in the Derby and Birmingham games.

Well said,

The only arguement i had with SMEG was for him to call a young player who has hardly played or given a chance a "Disgrace".

OK he mighn't of set the world alight but he doesn't deserve that remark, anyway i think the matter should be closed now so us REAL supporters can do what we do best and support our team!!! :veryangry

oh yes when the Kop was standing and it was 4 quid to get in i never missed a game in tghem daysi had Saturdays off but lifes a b!tch and these things happen.The only cahance i get now sadly is through me mates and going up from Bootle to Anfield on the hope of getting a ticket and sometimes not getting one and just having to go the Cabbage to watch it,

Sorry Mr season Ticket does this make me any less of a fan?

To even sit there and say Henry was "poor" in his first season is an absoloutely pathetic statement. 18 league goals, 23 goals overall, the same as Owen...

They finished second and himeself and Pires were a main reason behind this, so how the hell were they poor? Can you imagine having two players of Babel's incompetance in the side? It was bad enough against Birmingham, he along with a few others cost us the points due to his inability to provide any sort of width or spot any sort of decent pass.

Infact, I'm not even going into it. Henry and Pires both ripped numourous teams open that season and I find the whole "remember Pires and Henry" arguement the most lame, pathetic excuse for a :censored:

ever brought fortune tellers into anything? What a complete cop out of a statement that is. Its about knowing football, how it works, developement, player quality... understanding that players don't become something they are not. Players don't all of a sudden learn how to do something, they either have it in their locker or they don't. They don't suddenly become quick, or suddenly learn to be a great passer or suddenly learn to have world class control. They either have it, or they don't. Its then upto the managers to bring things out of them and develop them as a player.

Tell you what, he'll be world class when he learns to pass, control a ball, get a football brain, stops running down blind alleys, learns the concept of width....

Just as Sissoko will be world class when he learns to pass properly, takes better touches, gets more vision.

And just like Agger does when he learns to be a world class defender alround, learns how to be excellent in the air and learns how to be stronger.

We already have Carragher, Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Reina and Finnan that are completely faultless world class best in the world players, with Agger, Sissoko and Babel soon to join them we should never lose a game.
