Ditto. Exactly what I said in an earlier post.

Oh, and I've said it once, and I'll say it again. I don't care if I take stick from this: if we get offered the money we paid for Crouch, Rafa should take their arm off for it. I'm sorry, but he's just been p*ss poor, and our game just changes too much to suit him up front. He just doesn't suit our style of play this season at all whatsoever.

I think we wasted our money buying Torres and Babel

We should have just bought a few refs instead like the Mancs and Chelsea have :D

I thought we established the league was the priority this season. Why is Torres not playing? What about Babel? Sissoko and Alonso is our weakest midfield combination - surely Stevie should start if Mascherano is just back from Oz? Crouch can start the champions league matches to keep him happy.

We should have our strongest side out today.

I'm fairly certain that the changes are due to injuries....maybe not full on injuries but Gerrard has his broken toe and Torres had a knock too.....Benayoun in for Babel makes sense once you take Gerrard out the midfield so I think it is pretty sensible. Yes our "best" line up has Gerrard and Torres in it but if they're not 100% why risk them for 90 minutes?
If we need them they are there and can come on to help us clinch a win

Stevie's played against Chelsea and played 2 matches for England with that foot, so he can't be that injured. I think Rafa has 1 eye on the midweek CL match. I agree our best lineup has Gerrard and Torres in it so why aren't they starting. I think we do have to risk them now - the Premiership HAS to be our priority this season. TBH I wont give a flyin' f*ck about the CL, FA Cup or Carling Cup if we're in contention in April/ May. I CRAVE a good league run. I LOVE being at the top of the league even if its only after 4 matches, and I want to stay there.

We've just seen the biggest problem with over rotation. Talk about a team of individuals - they dont know where each other are. The passing and linkup play is rubbish. Plenty of effort but they cant play as a team.

If this is a marker of Rafas intentions for the season then Im worried.

We would be so much better if Gerrard played and Raf didnt use all his squad (apparently).

Ever the optimist...hehe
I think with benayoun we have enough creativity in midfield and Voronin has shown an eye for goal lacking from any of our strikers of the last couple of seasons

Ever the optomist ?

f'uck off mate , I'm a realist .

We're shading Portsmouth but have created f'uck all. Only a poorly taken penalty has kept us on even terms.

Unless Rafa changes it we're looking at 0-0 which I'm sure Portsmouth will settle for.
