agreed... sometimes i think rafa relies too much on the spanish market...

and if we can't get a winger... buy philipp lahm and play riise as winger...

podolski, klose, shweinsteiger and mertesacker are actually all good targets for us... and they would actually be reasonably priced...

only problem is german players don't really like to go abroad just like british players...

imagine if we get mertesacker and him and crouchy can do the robot together  :D ....

Take it your german then ?

not really... I'm from SEA... I lived in germany when I was a kid though and I like german football...I think they are a very efficient collective unit even though they may not have the most talented individual players... my favourite club was Werder and my favourite player was Rudi Voeller... :buttrock

Without turning this into another Owen thread Torres isn't fit enough to lace Owens boots IMO.

As for Torres agents reply, hes trying to get the biggest ammount possible for him and sounds to me  like he wants to start a bidding war.

I would offer 15 million plus Garcia , if they don't like it look elsewhere.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, or if it's even true..

On another note, I head a dream last night that I was watching LFC play their first game of the upcoming season and 3 of their new signings were playing. One of them was Pudolski. I can't remember the rest. I hope I am wrong with this psychic dream, though. :D

Barcelona selling former untouchable
Barcelona have put Premiership clubs Chelsea and Liverpool on alert that once untouchable midfielder Deco will be sold this summer.

The news comes as the emerging consensus within the club feel Barcelona need an overhaul as questions of the level of commitment have been raised by club president Joan Laporta. A third successive league title slipped from Barca’s hands as they led La Liga at the halfway point of the season.

Only six months ago Deco was viewed as a key member of the team and any offer would have been rejected, no longer. Laporta said certain players were staying including Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto'o, but the list notably lacked Deco. A Catalan paper said Deco was given a warning mid-season about his performances and they did not improve. An unnamed source claims Deco will be sold as a warning to the rest of the squad to reinvest their energies into the club or risk the same fate.

Sensing the shifting tide, last week Deco mentioned a desire to play in the Premiership and remains close to Jose Mourinho, his former manager at FC Porto. Chelsea and Liverpool are said to be keenly interested in signing the influential playmaker. Both Rafa Benitez and Mourinho are great admirers of the player’s talent and could get the Brazilian born, Portuguese international at a cut rate price.

There were stories of deco going a couple months ago.  Inter Milan the destination.

At the end of May I posted that I thought we would end up with Owen, Tevez & Malound.

Now I feel we will end up with Benayoun & maybe as a long shot Deigo Milito.

I feel that Bent will go to Spurs, Owen will stay put, Torres will, if he moves, go to Arsenal. Tevez to Madrid & Malound if he does move will be to Chelsea.

Not what I expected, but I have been proven wrong in the past.

Maybe we will only get Benayou ! !
